Lovely place to visit. Everything is well maintained. The visitors centre is worth seeing even though it had a tree snake loose inside.

It may not have the scale of Angkor Wat but it is still very majestic and sits beautifully in its landscape. We hired a car for a couple of days and did a driving tour of the points of interest. Well worth it and pretty...More

Amazing temple dating back to the 10th and 13th century A.D., sitting on top of an extinct volcano. Thought of as one of the most beautiful and important Khmer ancient monuments in Thailand. I can fully see why, it is impressive, beautiful and has been...More

The complex on top of Phanom Rung hill is set in a scenic environment with views of the rural area in all directions. On the car park you will find food and drink stalls as well as a number of souvenir shops.

Amazingly atmospheric, this place has been beautifully restored over 17 years by Thailand's Department of Fine Arts. They finished in 1988 and did a great job. The long approach is to me the most dramatic feature, leading up to the temple complex. Built in the...More

It is amazing to see what the Khmer people built in the 12th century. The architecture of the buildings are full with statues and the complex is wonderful designed.

Totally worthwhile visiting this place, it’s as good a building as you’ll find anywhere in Thailand. Originally a Hindu temple and a thousand years old it’s masonry and decoration is superb. Very worthwhile visit. Totally unsuitable for the less able, lots of stairs.

We traveled from Bangkok exclusively to see this site. It was a very long journey(about 450 kms), but a definitely worthwhile one.Even after having seen Angkor Wat, one cannot help but being enthralled by what is certainly the most beautiful Khmer monument in Thailand (dating...More

Phanom Rung has been overhyped to some extent and although it’s an interesting place to visit, it’s not on the same jaw-dropping level as Angkor Wat, Prambanan or Borobudur. If you temper your expectations, you’ll appreciate it more. It’s also not easy to get there;...More

You can hire a mini van with driver for a day for around B1000 or $300. Once you get to the site you have to buy tickets for a pick up truck ride to the top.
