Summer brings all kinds of people to Martha's Vineyard, and a summers evening of walking around and stopping for an ice cream can't be beat.

Unique area of Martha's Vineyard...historical-originated with the celigious cam meetings in the middle 1800's. Lot's of history and very walkable. Very laid back, great for people-watching. Decent shops, great but expensive ice cream. Very crowded in the summer but that's part of the fun. Safe...More

Circuit Avenue is quaint and homey. The shops are lovely, offering a wide variety of jewelry, clothing and other things. Sure, they have the usual souvenirs, but there are many other stores as well. Have ice cream at Mad Martha's, it's to die for.

Loud, crowded, traffic-clogged and stores that are pretty indistinguishable one from the other. Staff at the stores seem dis-interested and worn out. Avoid this place and head to Edgartown for shopping instead.

If you don't bring your car over on the ferry the safe way to to get around is to take the public bus. Public transportation is very safe. Taxi are very expensive. Nancy,s is good to eat
