Smith college has always been a leader in art collection and scholarship. Yes they do have a Georgia O'KEEFFE. And there's a medieval carving contained in a walnut shell that's quite extraordinary. It houses an active teaching collection, though and that means that not everything...More

This museum is a nice, moderately sized collection of art ranging from pre 1800 to the present. The exhibition space is sorted by age: third floor is art later than 1800, and includes works by Picasso, Childe-Hassan, Monet, Seurat, Gauguin and several others. Second floor...More

The Smith College Museum of Art has small but diverse and wonderful permanent collection. There is also usually one or two special exhibits that are almost always worth visiting. It is perfect for a one hour visit.

Manageable size, quality content. This is a fine local attraction and oasis of reflection. The collection of US, European and special exhibits makes this an excellent stop.

It was a spur of the moment visit. We had gone to Hungry Ghost Bread, down the hill, and spotted the museum. I thought it was free since most of the college museums around here are. Not... $5 for adults and kids under 12 free....More

This college art museum is a wonderful reflection of alumni donated and curated pieces. It's history goes back to the 19th C when the college art instructor, Tryon left his personal collection and works of art to form this museum. He is a well known...More

We always enjoy visiting art museums on college campuses and had a nice experience at this museum. It is a nice size and the exhibit was very nice. Walking the campus is also very special.
