Maritime Gloucester is Cape Ann's destination for maritime fun with facilities located on Gloucester's historic harbor. You can get inspired by the wonders of marine life, learn about the area's rich maritime heritage, meet ocean creatures, talk to a schooner captain, and become a hands-on part of the working waterfront! A calendar of programs, schooner sails, and family-friendly weekly events, including Labor Day's Schooner Festival. Maritime Gloucester - Oceans of Discovery Open daily in the summer from 10:00 - 6:00 pm. IMPORTANT UPDATE: Maritime Gloucester's Harriet Webster Pier is currently closed to the public as a result of a major harbor clean up effort in Gloucester Harbor. For the remainder of the 2016 season, admission to Maritime Gloucester is free of charge with interactive exhibits open in the Gorton's Gallery, the Children's Room, and the Dive Locker. We have fascinating sea animals in tanks in the WetLab -- including our BLUE lobster! Shop Maritime is fully stocked with tshirts, hats, unique gifts and a large selection of maritime-themed books for the whole family. On Sept. 3rd, plan on a visit to Maritime Gloucester's Maritime Heritage Day when we'll be unveiling a new schooner exhibit to celebrate Gloucester Schooner Festival.

The place was very nice and the staff were very friendly. Not very big but nice. Unfortunately, the aquarium was closed when we went. Wanted to see that. We still enjoyed ourselves.

Being a long time lover of the string of coastal beauties that Gloucester rests in the midst of, it's hard to explain why it stands out to me. It just does! If I had to choose just one place to sit, eat a Lobster Roll...More

Water and ships define the heart of the city; it calms down to a quiet town in the winter, but it is a bustling place in Spring & Summer, because of what you can do on the water. Don't miss it: this is a WORKING...More

Extremely small museum with very few exhibits. The entrance fee is rather large considering the size of the museum. There are a few hands on exhibits that I am sure the children would enjoy. Not what we expected for a museum.

Vast amount of funding spent on infrastructure - content zero. Sad as great possibilities, hopefully fulfilled in the future..

We brought our three grandchildren to this very nice museum of living history with live fish and models of fish. They had a great time looking for the creatures who are given a nice home in the tanks that seemed well kept.
