I made a point out of visiting this rock because the Doane of the title is one of my ancestors. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere and it only takes a couple minutes to see the whole thing (unless you want to try...More

A rock left behind by the ice age and can be seen while on a walk from the visitor centre. Not sure why this is in TA but a rock is a rock

You can find glacial erratics in many places, but not all as big as this. It helps if you realise that Cape Cod is basically all a glacial mound. Ten minutes is enough to view the rock, however it is also a nice quiet picnic...More

It's a big rock left behind by a glacier. Wow, unless you are a geologist, do not waste your time. Go to the beach instead or visit a lighthouse

Seen one rock, you've seen them all. Huge rock left behind by the glaciers is about as exciting as seeing the rocks in your back yard. See it if you're a big rock enthusiast, but otherwise not worth it.

HUGE Rock - Not Ayers Rock Size but still pretty massive piece of stone. An intrepid couple had scampered up it when we visited, so we didn't go up to crowd them out, but it was a neat stop on our itinerary. There's a National...More

Located off Route 6 in Eastham, Doane rock is actually a glacial boulder, the largest exposed boulder on the Cape. Doane was a deacon of the Plymouth Colony but was asked to leave in 1633. Regardless, he was active in colonial government. The Doane homestead...More
