Great views of the marsh and distant ocean as well as the Red Cedar Swamp Trail. An easily accessible pleasant walk from the scenic overlook .

The Fort Hill area has lovely walking trails overlooking the water. It was one of my favorite things to do while visiting the Cape.

Really nice hiking trails, great views, nice spot under gazebo for a picnic lunch, and the history of the area all make for a perfect visit!

This is part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. The turn for Fort Hill is before you get to the Salt Pond Visitor's Center. It is a narrow road but the the views make it worth it ! The Pennington House (not open) is on the right as you drive down the road. We were able to park in a parking lot and walk over to the historic Pennington House. We had learned about this sea captain at the quaint Eastham Historical Society museum near the Salt Pond Visitor's center. The house was very interesting to walk around (the outside). Further down the road is a smaller parking lot from which you can see amazing views of the marsh. There were hiking trails off this parking lot, but we did not have time to go on them. I believe one trail led to the ocean. I am very glad we stopped by this hidden gem. A large camper would probably have trouble negotiating this road and parking lot.

Our focus during COVID was to combine free outdoor exercise with sites we had not ventured to in the 40 years we have been visiting the Cape. This short walking trail gave us vistas both in and out of the trees. The tree portion of the trail was mostly boardwalk for easy walking and we walked along the marsh with the ocean in the background for the second part of the walk. Very scenic, bring bug spray and may want to wear pants since there are many signs for deer ticks to be on guard for, but we were fine. Parking lot was easy to find and trail well marked.

What a lovely walking trail. It is not arduous and has a great view of the ocean and marsh. It was not very crowded. Stops, along the trail, provide an opportunity to watch kayakers or take pictures. Travel off the beaten path for a nice hike!

There are various trails here. We really enjoyed the trail which had a boardwalk! It was nice and wide, scenic and led down to the water. We enjoyed the other trails as well. It is a great walk to do as a family!

Easy, family friendly hiking/walking trails. Not as crowded as other sites in area. Beautiful ocean views. Meadows & wildflowers. Site of ancient Nauset Indian encampment -- now marked as "Indian Rock" - a grinding rock for making knives and arrowheads.

Two small parking lots off Fort Hill Road and some additional access at the town landing (Hemenway Road). Signage OK.

Also, check out the Penniman House near the first parking lot.

You can do a short walk of 15 to 20 minutes or spend two-hours here. Lots of walking options.

Need to give your spirit's a lift? This minor Cape Cod jewel offers a spectacular vista of ocean, marsh and scrub from atop the eponymous Hill. If we have an hour or so, there's an easy hiking trail that takes you from the top of the hill all the way through all the various ecologies; but the view from the top is worth even a 2-minute stop-in from the tiny parking lot: gives you an instant hit of Cape endorphins.
