The discovery center is a must if you have kids, lots of fish and wildlife. Hiking trails are moderate level and feature a look out.

We booked well in advance of the Savageman Triathlon annual race. Great wooded campsites, wifi for free which was a pleasant surprise, wash house, metal food boxes for storage, very quiet and relaxing. It's a smaller campground. You can walk to the lake from the...More

Discovery center is a fabulous experience for kids. The displays and educational talks are very well done. So much to see and learn about wildlife. The aviary is fun too, especially seeing the eagles. Will be back :)

We took the short hike on a cool morning in June. It is hilly and be sure to wear sturdy shoes as it is rocky. There is an old abandon mine with history and a bear trap to see on the way.

We were there after a heavy down pour and the water falls were spectacular. The trails were well marked and easy to follow.

We have been visiting Deep Creek Lake State Park for 60 years, and still find the recreational aspects to be outstanding. Nearby restaurants, and Oakland, Maryland add to the attractiveness of DCLSP.

Hiked in this park twice during our stay at a nearby vacation property. The trails are well-maintained, well-marked, and not at all difficult. Would've liked to do the mine trail and the trip to the top of the fire tower, but those didn't fit into...More
