A great place to go exploring, be careful of the very step steps leading down to the rocks, I would not recommend young children or old/frail people do the steps as they are very step and slippery. The lighthouse is very pretty. It’s a great...More

One of the sites on the tour of lovely Castine, ME. If you'd like to see a lighthouse, take the short path along the barn to take a photo.

We've read The Fort by Bernard Cornwell several times so this was a must see. Quite steep--which we knew from the accounts--and amazing view at the base.

Any trip to Maine needs to include lighthouses. Beautiful location with easy access to the well maintained path. Lighthouse itself is privately owned but you can walk around.
