This is a hidden gem! So many choices for hiking! All the trails were well marked - I so appreciate a well-marked trail. We hiked to the top of the mountain, walked down to a beach, strolled along the coastline to reversing (with the tide)...More

I went to this beautiful sanctuary toward the end of the day, and had the place to myself. I walked several paths (the "scenic overlook" had overgrown with trees when I was there, with no view remaining unfortunately). The trails were very well marked. One...More

Really enjoyed exploring this unique waterside sanctuary. Walked to the ruins and wondered about their history. Ended up waterside and had a great view of Holbrook Island, Penobscot bay, and the Town of Castine. Very peaceful and serene experience.

This is a small 1000 acre park. That said, it has plenty of variety. Hike a very small "mountain" or go around the Aaron Pond. Each takes only about an hour or two.

It is a lovely place for a walk in the woods to pass fragrant spruce and vibrant soft patches of moss.
