Our family made one last visit to Hodges Gardens. While it may not be the same as it was a decade ago, it is still a beautiful park. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Me Hodges's bought the land from locals. My grandmothers family was one. My mother still remembers S playing in the pasture by the barn. The trees there were in the front yard. The gardens are a great place to bring kids. They love to climb...More

We didn't get to go to Hodges Gardens this time we were in Louisiana, but we have been before it was a State Park and were totally delighted with it. This time of year it is really hot, and I wouldn't suggest going in late...More

70 years ago a gentlemen put his heart and soul in building these gardens and it shows. Over the years many items were added to this park to add to its beauty. Majestic trees stand at the heart of the park standing sentinel over sweeping...More

We visited Hodges Gardens a few weeks ago. Not all of the fountains had water yet but the foliage was gorgeous and flowers were in bloom. I thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet in this luscious oasis! Every time we rounded a bend there was...More

I've been to Hodges Gardens several times over the years. From when I was a young boy until now it has changed quite a bit. In the past it was privately owned but open to the public year round. Now it is a Louisiana state...More

I am sure this was an incredible place at one time. It still has lots of beauty but it overgrown and neglected and sadly fallen into a state of disrepair. The lake and overall grounds are truly beautiful.

We stumbled across this park & fell in love with it. Many different gardens to visit. Most beautiful view is located at the end of the rose garden over looking the lake as the sun is setting. There are also cabins for rent. They also...More

Hodges gardens was beautiful, even though my visit was long after the azalea bloom. The state has not properly maintained this beautiful asset, and I wonder about its future. Roads, greenhouses, trails, etc. have suffered. I believe the gift shop is only open on Saturdays....More

Idyllic grounds which have suffered badly from State budget cuts. The Observation Tower was the highlight. You can get a great view of the lake and the waterfall from there. There is much potential. Unfortunately, the gardens have severely deteriorated. It would require a concentrated...More

Well, that depends upon your ability to walk and what you wish to see. Assuming you're an avid trekker, and you want to see most of it, I would say, schedule about five hours with a lunch inbetween.
