Checked in to taking my Mom to see this magnificent gardens once more & its closed! How disappointing! This garden was a childhood staple of family vacations from the 1970s and onward. Its just so sad to hear it's closed with no plans to reopen.

Had heard about this former state park and were looking forward to seeing it for ourselves, maybe even staying overight in a cabin. Imagine our surprise to find out that not only is it no longer a state park as of early 2018, it has...More

Our family made one last visit to Hodges Gardens. While it may not be the same as it was a decade ago, it is still a beautiful park. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Me Hodges's bought the land from locals. My grandmothers family was one. My mother still remembers S playing in the pasture by the barn. The trees there were in the front yard. The gardens are a great place to bring kids. They love to climb...More

We visited Hodges Gardens a few weeks ago. Not all of the fountains had water yet but the foliage was gorgeous and flowers were in bloom. I thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet in this luscious oasis! Every time we rounded a bend there was...More

I am sure this was an incredible place at one time. It still has lots of beauty but it overgrown and neglected and sadly fallen into a state of disrepair. The lake and overall grounds are truly beautiful.

Well, that depends upon your ability to walk and what you wish to see. Assuming you're an avid trekker, and you want to see most of it, I would say, schedule about five hours with a lunch inbetween.
