Pura Meduwe Karang located at kubutambahan village, around 12 km east of Singaraja. it is the temple of the lord ground possessor. The temple is dedicated to Batara Meduwe Karang,a god which offers protection on the fertility of the land. i visited this temple three weeks ago when i had a one day tour in North Bali.it is the second time i came here, what impressed me is a stone-craved relief of a westerner riding a bicycle. It's on the base of the main plinth in the inner enclosure. The cyclist may be Nieuwenkamp, a Dutch artist who brought the first bicycle to Bali in 1904 .that time i visited this temple, there is a local guide approached to me,i remembered him, cuz the first time i visited this temple, he was there also, this guy guided me to see the temple, helped me taking photos, also explained me some stories about singaraja and the craving.this time,he did the same thing,i also asked him to take pics of me and the cyclist.i found that the cyclist worn a frangipani behind his ear, maybe someone do this everyday , so i imitated him when taken photos, you can easily find frangipani in the temple area, haha, very nice and unforgettable experience.

Meduwe is a large, well restored and managed temple in a beautiful setting up against the mountain. The largest in Pemuteran it is quite beautiful and kept clean and in good repair. You'll understand more if you go with a guide. You can get lots of good photos here as well as it is quiet when there are no religious events taking place.

This is a beautiful temple with intricate carvings and gorgeous gardens. It is quite small but very peaceful - we were the only tourists there! You will be asked for a donation on entering the temple and also have to use a guide, to whom you should also give a small donation. The guides are local and know all about the different carvings and the history of the temple - a great experience and one of the less discovered Bali temples!

It is nicely kept, the garden is well organized, but its nothing special.. There are couple nice statues and cravings, but not worth the visit if you stay far away.. Entry fee is donations and its 5k for sarong rent..

Nice temple which we visited on our way from Pemuteran to Amed. It is especially known for carving of a guy on bike.
