Visited the place by accident. Was going from Florenville to Verdun and saw the towers of the Cathedral and decided to go checked it out. The place is very nice, with medieval gates, a huge Cathedral and a few houses. Some of the places are...More

If you arrive by car, you can drive directly into the citadel through a narrow road and tunnel. Access to the ramparts ( a 40 minute self-guided walk) is paid. The path is accessible with prams, with a few benches along the way. People actually...More

You need a day here, there is so much to explore, overground, views, underground. Suitable for any age. I would definitely return to this place stay all day and take a picnic.

We discovered this site almost by accident, while driving from the beautiful village Avioth to Torgny. This fortified little village is fully under (re)construction but promises to become a nice spot to spend an hour or so. You can make a little walk around the...More

I'm not sure which Citadelle other reviewers here have been to but I've just spent a lovely day with husband and two collies exploring Montmédy Citadelle. No, it's not tidy, no it's not "well kept" - but it doesn't need to be. If it was...More
