This is a great piece of KY history & thanks to a past governor & spouse, this piece of history has been preserved for all. The only rest area in the US that was previously a home, is steeped with southern tradition.

"Wow, Wow, Wowed, By This Welcoming Center!" It is such an unusual view for thiis facility here but so visually appealing and appropriate for the Southern hospitality! We enjoyed stopping in for the Kentucky info on bourbon dinning and attractions!

The lobby of Whitehaven Welcome Center which includes the bathrooms, vending machines, KY State Maps, and brochures is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Department of Travel and Tourism office is staffed 8:00 - 4:30 Monday - Saturday. Tours are given 2:00 - 4:00 provided there is adequate staffing.
