The Marshall County Historical Society is housed in the retired nineteenth century courthouse. There are many fine exhibits and the staff is very friendly and glad to help you find any information you need.

Stopped in with cub, girl, and boy scouts a couple of summers ago. The staff was very helpful and had a special display of scouting uniforms, books, and goods for the scouts to observe.

The historic courthouse is a gorgeous building! The local historical society has done a very nice job of displaying artifacts from the past - household objects, clothing, military uniforms, a school room. The beautiful oak courtroom and jury alcove are worth the stop!

I did not see any the two days I was there but they are supposed to be around. There were giant squirrel statues peppered throughout the area.

I can't recall the specifics of free entry but either it was donation or if you got there a specific day or hour it was free. Might find it online.
