Our family has gone to this park/zoo for many years; it has become a family tradition! Everyone is so pleased that the old playground equipment is still intact, just as they remembered it! And it is free to the public!
So much for children! Don't forget the merry-go-round! Old-fashioned, and works! The price has permanently be set at only a nickel...
And there is no admission fee! How great is that!
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you to the sponsors and city fathers for keeping this park going.

We needed to kill an hour so decided to check out the area. It is AWESOME! There is so much to do, especially for kids, in that area. A giant playground, carousel, swimming and putt putt (in the warmer months), and a FREE zoo! It would also be perfect for walking. Adults and kids alike! If you are traveling through, this is the place to stop and stretch your legs!

Really liked the zoo. Animals were in a good condition. Also the kids enjoyed theirselves in the playground. We will definitely come again.

My grandkids love the monkeys! Easy parking and the park is right next door. Lots of kids playing on the structures.

Maybe we’re just spoiled with visits to other zoos but this zoo didn’t wow us. The animals seemed well taken care of, although some exhibits seemed small. The variety of animals was okay. The most impressive section was the reptile house. The opportunities to feed the animals were cool but the tickets were already pricey and we didn’t feel it was worth it. Would be more fun with kids. I wouldn’t recommend the botanical gardens unless you want to go to the kids water section or you really like plants or gardening. Taking the tram up was a good idea but walking back wasn’t bad.

Didn’t go into the zoo but the park is beautiful with a fountain, shelters, playground, and bandshell. Great place for a picnic!

This is a very nice, big and relaxing park. It has many paths and playground stuff for the kids and also cheap train rides. A good choice for a family.

Awesome Park & Zoo! Great place to spend some quality family time. Lots of playground equipment for kids of all ages in the Park as well as VERY inexpensive carousel rides, train rides, and mini golf.
For a free zoo, it is really nice. The monkeys on Monkey Island are always entertaining and active. Monkey Island is home to the famous Miss Able space monkey. With a short stroll to the ravine you will find a cougar and bears in a natural habitat.

At least half of the animal cages were empty. The three bears were hibernating. The famed Monkey Island was deserted. We did manage to see a cougar, a swan, two emus, some monkeys, a turkey vulture, and a porcupine. The zoo was free, so one really can't complain. There are some nice walking paths and plenty of playground things for the kids to climb on. You can drive a short distance and see some buffalo.

This is how City Parks used to be. Large, SAFE, Friendly and FREE Admission with lots to do and see. The Park has a Large Playground, Swimming Pool, Miniature Train, Merry Go Round and Miniature Golf. The highlight is the Free Zoo with a large assortment of Animals. Walk Paths and short Trail walks. Picnic Tables and Group Picnic sites. The Local Veterans Memorial is on site as well. Easy to find off Highway 75.
