We visited 7 Freedom Rocks as we traveled through Iowa. It was a fun and interesting stops along the way to South Dakota. My husband is a veteran, and he really enjoyed visiting the sites. They are fantastic to see.

The work that goes into painting this rock is incredible. The detail is great, and the message is good. Stunning.

Located only a mile off of I-80, the rock has been repainted yearly since 1999. It's always a moving tribute to our soldiers. Don't go expecting any frills, or even a restroom. It's there as a show of respect and honor.
