This museum is a surprise for the amount of historical items to look at. The Fort is filled with treasures, as one would assume that going thru that portion of the museum would be quicker than going thru the village portion, but it is not....More

I'm not fond of history but I was impressed with the display and buildings at the Fort. My husband thoroughly enjoyed touring.

We like the historical offerings of the Museum. As collectors of stoneware, this is an excellent place to bone-up on your knowledge of Iowa stoneware - especially Ft Dodge Stoneware. Have FUN!

Wonderful staff working on the Fort... let us come in a take a look even bought a skunk skin cap! Great conversation and wonderful people.. we didnt get to see the Cardiff Giant and still loved it

The Fort is a great learning family destination. Highly recommend the tour and also the gift shop. The fort is also the host for the Chili Cookoff which occurs the second Sunday in October every year. They also host a BBQ competition in the spring....More

The Fort Dodge Museum covers quite a bit of ground with a "main street" of businesses and a general store or museum building. The artifacts cover quite a range of time so it all loses focus a bit, but it is a very comfortable place...More
