You don't need to check out a book to appreciate this building. You need to walk through the building to see the amazing wood work of the floors, walls, staircase from 1876.

Lots of information available in many forms and friendly assistance if you need it. It even has a resident "ghost"- the "Gray Lady" that wanders around usually in the basement. Check out the week long "Midnight Madness" held each year and other genealogy seminars throughout...More

We stopped in on a trip through the area. The architecture and woodworking are beautiful. There is a wonderful children's area with books, puzzles, and toys. The staff members were all welcoming and kind. It was a nice place to explore on a hot day.

Sorry, there are no such things as ghosts. If that's why you are planning to visit, then just skip it. You won't see, hear, or 'feel' any paranormal activity here. :)

A beautiful library that is worth the trip just for the architecture. They also house a wonderful collection of Evansville history and genealogical information from the area families. Built by one of Evansville's elite, and beautiful to behold!
