Visited the island on a Monday & the cathedral wasn’t open. Looked nice situated up the hill from the cruise ship terminal though.

There isn't a lot of significant architecture in Basse-Terre, so this Cathedral is a real find, worth looking into when walking around town.

It is a nice place at the very center of Basse-Terre, administrative capital of Guadeloupe. Built with huge square stones, it seems of an excellent tenure. It has, since cyclons can be viiolent in that part. If you are curious, you will see something very...More
