A romantic house and gallery set in beautiful riverside gardens. Ancient trees, bubbling brooks and rolling lawns frame this lovely old house. Crafted from a medieval priory, it is full of surprises, with art that intrigues and delights. Come back throughout the year to see different exhibitions in the gallery. Carpets of spring bulbs, a stunning walled rose garden, rich autumn leaves and a colourful winter garden make Mottisfont a feast for the senses all year round. There's space to run, jump and play, and always something for families to do.

We knew very little about Mottisfont before visiting and were absolutely captivated by the house, art collection and gardens. As an illustrator Im also a big Judith Kerr fan so was delighted to find an exhibition about her work. It was an extremely hot day...More

Mottisfont has one of the greatest collection of roses at any of the NT properties, however on this visit it was disappointing to see that the Walled garden that houses these fine roses is under a complete renovation. Naturally I am sure that the end...More

Visited on a short break in Hampshire, and were so pleased we did. This is a magnificent example of what The NT do best. The newish entrance building is well designed, and incorporated the large well laid out shop. We started on a shady riverside...More

A lovely N.T property. We dropped in there for some lunch and a stroll on the way to some other gardens. It was stiflingly hot so we sat inside the stable café and had a light lunch. We went to the rose garden but unluckily...More

Really pretty gardens, nice grounds, a few nice play things for kids. Lots of lovely looking arches in the rose garden which made some pretty pictures. Quite a lot of ground maintenance going on at the moment, which meant sections were closed off which was...More

We visited last week, driving over an hour there as the children wanted to paddle in their paddling area and it seemed a perfect choice. We got there about 2pm and showed our cards and went in. We needed to ask for a map and...More

Exceeded expectations. We visited on a scorching summer’s day. The watery surroundings made for an idyllic place to hide from heat. With added fascination of lines of archaeology visible through dry grass! Great interpretations in the ground floor gallery to help understand how the building...More

Last year they appeared to be selling the roses near the main entrance, but visiting the walled gardens themselves is not a separate ticket. Prices as above are for the whole place. Well worth it.
