Bring some cash to spend on food at each stop, don't be shy, they have great food: fruit, water, whatever! And be ready for a long drop down when viewing from the train!! Also, if you get nauseous please bring something to help, since the...More

I took this train from Mandalay to Hsipaw for 11 hours. The scenery was really good, there are man chances to buy food on the platforms and the seats were extremely comfy even to sleep in (we paid extra for upper class). My only criticism...More

I did not expect such a high viaduct like this. It was a breathtaking experience to look out of the window of the train into a depth of 250 metres. It took approximately 5 minutes to cross the bridge in a very slow motion. I...More

I have done this railway trip 3 times and it's ALWAYS fantastic fun. The British built and conserved this beautiful architectural creation for 100 years. This was their guarantee. This guarantee expired a few years ago and since then, England stopped taking care of it....More

Great experience traveling on the viaduct. Upper class seats were sold out when I wanted to purchase it at POL the day before. But the ordinary class seats were still available on the day of the trip itself, an hour before the scheduled departure. Try...More

I did the very early start from Mandalay (4 am departure). The first part of the trip was pre-dawn & was twisty & turny - a bit like a switchback heading out from Mandalay. I had managed to get one of the best seats (4a)...More

I love trainrides and so I decided to make this one too. The trainride itself was very bumpy, sometimes the luggage fell out of the racks and for that reason I recommend to reduce the length of the ride. We took the train from Hsipaw...More
