First off, yes, I am a Mormon. That being said, Historic Nauvoo is interesting for Mormon and non-Mormon alike. We have a lot of non-Mormon family that love to visit. There are fun tours. Our favorites are the Family Living Center, The Brick Yard, The...More

Worth the visit. Historical displays and activities. Few places to eat though, so be prepared to eat at a gas station or other sandwich shop.

I'll note first off that I am not Mormon. That said, this is a pretty fascinating place to visit. It's a bit out of the way but was near to our route from Springfield to SE Iowa. There is a nice visitor center. All of...More

Went to visit Nauvoo with my family and we love it. Although we are not Mormon, we still enjoy and learn a lot from the tour.

Fascinating stories. Authentic renovations and restorations. The senior couple missionaries were very helpful and knowledgeable. The demonstrations of the everyday skills and crafts the settlers used were well done and informative.

We spent two full days here and there was still not enough time to do everything - and the carriage and wagons rides were not operating. Each home or shop was interesting and the missionaries did a good job of presenting. We also saw the...More

This by far exceeded expectations and we had been told it was great. The free evening performance Rendezvous was hilarious and so well done. Learning to make rope, bread in a fire, barrels, weaving, wool etc were so interesting and informative. We loved all the...More

Girls trip. Such a wonderful day spent in Historic Nauvoo. We learned a lot about the ways of the early Saints and their trials in the early 1800's. Such a beautiful temple. Enjoy the Family Living Center and make rope!

Yes you can. What you do will depend on if you have kids or not. We really liked the gun shop. Kids might like the family center where various pioneer skills are demonstrated like rope making (they can participate) and bread... More
