We drove through the park and noted the campsites, but didn't stay overnight. We were on a mission to see the war memorial at the far side of the park. The memorial is new and honors Middle East veterans from the area. It features 200+...More

This state park is a great bargain! Private clean camp sites and many shaded. My kids love to camp by the playground and CP ice cream shop which is my favorite too. It’s my new favorite “local” campground since I paid only $10 for non...More

This park is along the Illinois river and a road takes you all the way back to the lock and dam. There are areas for camping ,walking, playground, picnics and group gatherings. There is an area where boats can be launched. In the summertime there is...More

We love launching our boat at Illini! The ramp and piers are easy to launch at. The parking is close. Restrooms are available.

Went for a day hike woth some family and children. Could not find a trail longer than 100 feet that took you from a grassy knoll to the boat launch. Disappointed. Looked nice in pics. The bathrooms are less than to be desired. Need a...More

Came Memorial Day weekend mostly because a lot of the other places were booked. We were lucky enough to have a camper, who originally reserved one of the sites, trade with us since there was literally no privacy between the two sites. It was pretty...More

This was my first time camping and I really enjoyed this location. It was safe, clean and a short drive to Starved Rock. We will definitely camp here again. The "restroom" facilities were not the best, but I guess that is just a part of...More

Needed a place to stop for the night and it was perfect! Easy to find and get to. Private sites, electrical hook up for cheap. Sites are right on the river and beautiful. We stayed near the bathrooms. The showers were a bit cold, but...More

We stayed in site 84 which wasn't bad compared to some others. We like the secluded areas when we camp and this site was ok. Site 83 was tucked more into the woods and one we would have enjoyed more. Many of the sites are...More

Boat Dock, hiking trails, camp sites, all along the Illinois river, 5 miles from Ottawa, IL, 10 miles from Starved Rock State Park. Great place to spend a week and explore a great area of the state.

Yes, many campsites line the river so you can fish all night if you choose one of those. Park closes I believe at 10pm for non campers.
