Would definitely recommend a walk along the river here! We ate our lunch on a park bench in the sunshine. Lots of folks out for a walk or just being outside!

Grant Park sits on the river and offers a very senic view of the town. It's a great place to take in the lay out of this classic old town.

Nice park with many civil war items to view and read about. If you enjoy history, take time to read all the signs, go to Grants home and attend the reenactment held along the banks.

Park has memorials established on the east side of the river. Very nice walking path to “stretch the legs” a bit.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here, sipping champagne while enjoying the beautiful fall colors, and warm temps on the Oct. 21st. Plenty of picnic tables under a covered shelter, park benches, a gazebo (no seating), and a lovely fountain.
