Four stages of improv comedy make this a great night out. Weekends there are two shows of Improvised Shakespeare, a five - man troupe who does a hilarious take on the Bard (but don't expect accuracy). Every show is unique based on the audience suggestions,...More

I previously gave iO a 5-star review in early 2016 and it's still SO funny. We saw a different version of the Improvised Shakespeare company again and it's still one of the best comedy shows I've ever seen.

Have a good time. reasonable drinks. The improv players did excellent job. Come early and sit down front, close to the stage.

We attended an improv show at the this theater on a Saturday. Over all, it was pretty funny. I would say that the 2nd group was funnier than the 1st group. Come a little bit buzzed and be prepared for anything.

The Improvised Shakespeare Company should be seen by all! I have never laughed so hard - there were tears streaming down my face. On the spot improve in iambic pentameter is hard to beat.

While taking a comedy writing class here, I attended a story telling event which was enjoyable if not well-attended. The stories were quite riveting (and humorous), but suggested that there could be some growth in the richness of the story telling community here in Chicago....More

We caught the Wednesday night free improv show. This is put on by students, and while it was okay (especially for people on a budget), I would recommend paying the money for a more professional show. It's Chicago, land of comedy, so go for the...More
