The comparison to Thoreau's Walden is inexact and overdone when considering Ping Tom Memorial Park. The excess of the comparison, however, will diminish when hanging out in Chinese influenced architecture for shelters and the field house. Indigenous prairie plantings grace the extremes of the park...More

Drove in from Arlington Heights to this park in Chinatown for the first time. It’s a beautiful park with of course a Chinese theme for it’s architecture. We came here for the Dragon Boat Festival. What’s beautiful about this park is that it serves as...More

After eating at a Chinese restaurant in Chinese, we decided to go to the nearby park. It's a nice park with a playground. It can be reached via water taxi. Good place for strolling, jogging.

On the edge of Chinatown, the park brings together chicago's industrial history with China's aesthetic and the Midwest prairie. And the combination works. In it you'll see children playing in their ground, lovers sitting under willow trees, old Chinese women practicing traditional arts, joggers, strollers,...More

Chinatown may be one of Chicago’s smallest
neighborhoods geographically, but it's big on
character, colors, sights, sounds, and flavors. In
this South Side neighborhood, you’ll find authentic
Chinese restaurants dotting the length of Wentworth

other tantalizing food specialties, satiate your
