Take a step back in time to the Gilded Age with banker Samuel Nickerson's mansion. Explore all three floors of the museum and discover how the Nickerson family lived and socialized. Tours are an extra $5, but well worth it.

The Driehous Museum is a fascinating look at the Gilded Age. The main floor rooms are simply stunning and the stained glass dome is breathtaking. I was glad I took the tour, since it provided a fuller picture of the era and the families who...More

A very interesting piece of legacy from a very interesting period of time. Hard to imagine living almost without electricity or any of the modern devices everyone has now, and yet had such a fortune of wealth at that time. Industrial products were modern and...More

This was recommended on our hotel literature, so on a hot, busy weekend, we popped in here and were pleasantly surprised. It's a fabulous throw back to the days of the Gilded Age and they have done a remarkable job restoring the glory of this...More

The Driehaus Museum is a 19th century treasure located right in a tourist and shopping area of Chicago. In addition to seeing period pieces in this glorious house, the museum hosts fabulous exhibits. You can spend hours here.

I love looking at Old home and learning the history. We took the docent tour to give us more information. It was wonderful!
