I really wanted to go to the National Memorial as it is a beautiful building with a lot of history, but they are closed for tours until April 15th. I wish I knew that before I trekked over to the building.

Beautiful building, stunning architecture, with paintings and decorations. It is all about American Soldiers. Admission is free. Visit can be combined with Lincoln Park Zoo. It does not take a lot of time

we went there in Chicago open house event, it's gorgeous inside, esp. there a room with very elegant ceiling, and golden decoration. there is also an exhibition area in basement, displaying different cart in the parade for different years.

I agree with the previous reviews on the beauty of this building. Wanted to add that the small parking lot to the left as you face the building has a few visitor spots. That is great as street parking is very difficult in this area.

You can often find parking on the street quite near. There also is a smallish lot with some free guest parking just to the south of the building.
