Busy and impressive. I like to walk a mile or two here after dinner. Lots of shops, open late in most cases. Clean and feels quite safe with so many people around.

The great shops, and 2 full streets of shops. Too much to see in one visit. A lot of fun shopping with kids, bring lots of money. And remember the ideas of clothing.

Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan
Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent
Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago
River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out
neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the
place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with
shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and
dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale.

If I were you I would park it out in Rosemont or one of the outer lots and take the train into the city. Less hassle.
