- Kaye R59 contributionsGreat viewsHad lunch here recently and ordered the chicken salad which was very tasty, except it was missing the avocado noted on the menu and no mention was made of this. My friend had the sausage roll which was also delicious. The staff were lovely and atmosphere is great. It is very busy for breakfast and parking is limited around the area. It would be great in future if they would take bookings.Visited April 2023Traveled with friendsWritten March 31, 2023
- Blond007cPerth, Australia702 contributionsGorgeous locationWe went on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. As the rest of Maylands ☺️. This cafe has the best location and handle the keen crowds well. They don't take reservations, but have a gorgeous young man with a clip board taking names and informing you of the approximate wait. There is a coffee hole where you can order a takeaway and sit on the wall enjoying the views. Good choice of cooked breakfasts and gf options. Coffee was good and came quickly. Food took abit longer due to it being so busy, but was worth the wait. We had the sweet corn fritters with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back. Definitely a good weather place, but there is sitting inside and on the veranda should the weather be lousy.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 29, 2023
- Janine P39 contributionsA very worthwhile visitWe had lunch at the Cafe then did a tour of the Tranby farm house. I ordered the mushrooms on toast and my brother had the lamb shank pie. Two delicious meals. Service excellent. After lunch we had a tour of the farmhouse. Our guide had fabulous knowledge of the Hardey family and made the tour really interesting. She highlighted the importance of the family and the farm to the new European settlement at Swan River.Visited June 2023Traveled with friendsWritten June 22, 2023
- Geoffrey BMaylands, Australia240 contributionsWonderful LocationEverything about this experience was favourable, from the magnificent setting to the service and food quality. Our early lunch consisted of fritters accompanied with salmon and spicy beans, one of my favourites. The setting of the restaurant rolling down to the Swan River is absolutely wonderful and a minor wait of 10 minutes was spent enjoying the scenery. Peninsula Farm Cafe has it all: beautiful situation, gorgeous view, great layout of tables, clean and tidy, superb food especially the Devonshire tea with the best scones we have tasted in a very long time, plenty of staff who all work very hard to make your experience special and the manager Darren who manages the cafe like a well oiled machine and still finds time to to make the customers feel very welcome.

I think the service and quality of product is very poor,
It used to be better.
It's in a great position, I don't deny this, but the wait staff (well,'actually, they are just counter staff) are close to moribund.
They shouldn't have a license for such a lovely spot.

This was a great find whilst we had a casual walk along the river. The setting is fabulous as it is located by the river.
The coffee was great as was the service. This reminds me more of a Tea room than a cafe. Easy to get to by car with parking nearby.
Nice for a Sunday walk and coffee break.

Peninsula Farm was one of the first farms in WA, dating from 1830. It is the oldest residence still stnding in Perth. Life was tough in the early days, and women worked as hard as men. Peninsula Farm is on the Swan River, Perth's crown jewel. The cafe is a good place to relax, you can have a high tea, please book in advance.

What a huge disappointment. Fantastic setting but this restaurant is such a letdown.. The high tea is ridiculous priced but all shop bough, nothing home made, nicely presented but could be so much better if someone put some time and effort into this restaurant.

Yes a couple moored their boat and walked to the restaurant while we were there. Not sure if there are any rules about the mooring though so probably best to call and ask
