Take the time to learn the history, and to explore the area. Wonderful shows and museums. The carving has a detailed and complicated history.

We first (and only) saw the laser show 34 years ago and they are now celebrating their 35th Anniversary so things have really changed! Free lawn seating still available but we decided to opt for reserved terrace seating - got assigned to the South Carolina...More

The carving is excellent. The largest in the USA even larger than Mount Rushmore. They cut through the trees and created a great viewing area called the Memorial Lawn - great place to eat lunch and look at the mountain and watch the train go...More

We enjoyed the carving, nice piece of history. The laser show was nice and entertaining. A cool way to spend a summer evening.

It was a good exp to visit, way to many shops and not enough attractions to warrant a pass, and vip pass is a waste of money. But the train ride was nice on a hot day, the view was awesome. The junkyard band is...More

Carving is excellently presented and not intrusive at all. Make sure you explore the history behind the carving. It is a piece remembering a piece of history and the characters in that history.

When I first moved to Atlanta back in the 70's they were still working on the carving. It is a great thing to see finished. Good part of US history and a great attraction to see for people from all around the world

This is a must see, it is bigger the mount Rushmore and the detail is spectacular , you can see it by cable car but what a work of art.

While Stone Mountain was impressive and fascinating, the carving was disappointing - in contrast to the size of the mountain - and hard to see any details. While the artistic work may have been outstanding, the choice of subjects was depressing, idolizing men who promoted...More

This carving is amazing! It is huge! We didn't get to see the laser show, was canceled due to weather. But they did shoot off fireworks. Climb to the top if you can.

I believe the entire complex is called memorial park and it is free with park admission. The best place to watch is on the big lawn right in front of the carving. Bring a blanket or lawn chair though
