We prefer to keep detached when visiting tourist sites, particularly when it seems to be a private home. So this visit took us a little outside our comfort zone. There is a selection of homemade, jams, oils, mustards and wines for sale. If you like the personal touch you’ll love it here.

It is not a true Fruit salad farm. It is a working farm that has grapes, citrus & an assortment of other nut & fruit trees. You get to see an informative video of the farm then take on a unique bus tour of the farm. Finishing with a tastings & the availability to purchase products made on the farm. We really enjoyed the experience & humour of our hosts as they passed on their very informative knowledge of the farm & area. We also learnt a lot about the MIA system.

Friend organised this us and we were not sure what to expect. Thrilled we decided to go, What a hoot, great old fashioned entertainment and sharing of knowledge. We were a bit embarassed by some anti Chinese comments as we were with our friends who are Chinese living in Australia. But overall we learnt a lot. Great day.

An interesting informative way to spend a couple of hours. We arrived in time to join the 1.30 bus tour around the farm. Sharon was full of information about both the region and the history of fruit growing here. A 12 minute video added to our knowledge- as did Sharon’s at times witty commentary. Apart from winery visits there may be a limited number of “touristy” things to do in Griffith, but this was one we are really glad we did.

Thanks Marie at Visitor Info Centre for the recommendation to visit. Sharon and Joe gave us a real insight into their lives as farmers. Sharon presented us with bunches of sultana grapes. She gave a great rendition of the history of the house and their farm. We enjoyed the tour of the farm in that very unique bus! Along the way we partook of figs, plums, oranges , grapes, pecans straight from the tree/vine. The video clip was very informative as was the entire commentary. The shop with home made produce is also very worthwhile to check out. Many thanks to Joe and Sharon. Lindsay & Marie
