I visited this church as part of my island tour, lots of history about this building, the oldest on the island, spectacular views of the east coast from here, I'm still amazed by the sundial, if you can read one you'll appreciate it, one of the island's recent PM is laid to rest here, the charm of this attraction both inside and outside, makes it a must visit when on island

A nice church above the coastline. We stopped off on our tour and looked around this lovely church and then admired the views .

First of all, I did not realize the church was located right at the edge of a cliff where you have spectacular ocean views and can even see the rock formations of Bathsheba in the distance. The church, one of the oldest on the island, is beautiful and is filled with magnificent woodwork. The cemetery is very interesting. Many important people who contributed to the history of Barbados are buried there. Reading some of the inscriptions on the tombs is informative and interesting.

We went on a 6 person tour and this was one of my favorite stops. The church is being renovated and is well maintained for being so old. The graveyard has headstones dating back to the 1700s. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited St. John's parish church as part of a shore excursion. It is in a beautiful spot with ocean views of Bathsheba. The area is surrounded with old, large mahogany trees that do not give you a clue about the beauty of the wood that they contain. The graveyard is interesting and most of the people buried there are influential citizens of the parish. There is another grave yard across the road for ordinary people. The inside of the pseudo gothic church is quite beautiful.

Without doubt this is one of my favourite attractions on the island. Probably not the easiest to find but google will get you there - good sized car park.

This is a church of great history, charm and character and situated high up with truly wonderful views of the scenic and rugged east coast. A well maintained church with loyal support and the wall plaques certainly take you back in time. One looks out of the church windows and can see the east coast down below in the distance.

The graveyard is also well worth a visit and looking at the headstones simply confirms the history of the place. The coastal views are absolutely awe inspiring and what a wonderful last resting place this must be.

There is a nice shop and toilets - I think the church does get quite a few cruise ships tourists but mercifully when we were there it was quiet as sadly lock down was approaching. Opposite the church is a lovely vicarage which I understand is empty at present as they are waiting a new vicar.

I could easily stay here a couple of hours at this wonderful church and it is often in my thoughts. Do try and visit if you can.
