    Good Local Option
Spent a pleasant 3 hours touring the various levels of the museum. Has a lot of local historical displays and info. Good option for families and visitors as it is near Stuart Beach. Plenty of free parking.

    that's it for this place
Average to almost poor rating due to info desk lack of communication. They had a Staurday Evening Post cover exhibit. Would I like to see for extra charge? Sure. Not explained was the fact that you cannot photograph, period. Oh, signs are posted ONCE you get to the exhibit, but no one tells you this when you're spending the money at ticket counter. I would not have wasted the extra fee, as I cannot memorize hundreds over covers and would have picked out a few to photo (many of these are in the public eye already for crying out loud). As for the rest, it's a limted selection of cars, more than half of which are enclosed in a garage-o-matic rack system that hasn't worked in years. These and a bunch of Americana. That said, a shout out for the Cunningham on display - super rare, super interesting. While the story of the founder is interesting and he was an impressive man, this is still a museum/building in search of a purpose. Not especially rewarding unless you are already in the area.

    Must see for auto enthusiasts
Who knew?!? Thought it was a museum of history for the area. Was seriously surprised when I found that it is primarily an automobile history museum! My husband was in heaven. I've been to numerous car events with him but both he and I said we saw vehicles (including tractor-trailers) that we have never seen before. Additionally, they have an incredible section where they have cars displayed that they can "bring to you". There is a section where you can see vehicles in a glassed-in area. You pick the one that you want to see up close and the operator pushes a button that automatically moves the car along an elevated system that brings it to you. It is automatically placed on a "turn table" in front of you so you can see it up close and personal. Wow!! Thought I had seen it all!

    Elliot Museum - Small Masterpiece
INTERACT - LEARN - BE AMAZED The Elliot Museum, in Stuart, is a collection of vintage cars, anything on wheels, baseball, trains, books, artwork, vintage items, etc. It is right on Hutchinson Island, and we just loved looking around and taking pictures. Supposedly, there is only 4 of the “car mechanical picks” left in the US. You ask one of the tour guides to pick a vehicle from one of 3 floors, and it is magically removed from its slot and brought down to the first level for people to fully view as it spins around. The Museum offers local history exhibits, and is becoming a cultural hub in the community offering a variety of opportunities to discover, experience, and engage. They have different events and lectures through the year. There is a combo ticket where you go down the road to The House of Refuge - another amazing place with stunning ocean views. The tour guide is a wealth of information of how these houses came to be. (Only one left now in Florida)

    Cars, art, artifacts, oh my!
Who knew there was so much to do in Florida that doesn't involve theme parks? We bought a combo ticket for the Elliott and House of Refuge museums. Both were just great. Elliott museum is packed with an impressive classic and antique car collection, plus a hand built, one of a kind motorboat. We had the pleasure of meeting the actual designer and operator of said watercraft. The garage/car carousel display is a must see. Lots of interesting local and not so local artifacts and displays. My personal favorite was the Highwayman painting gallery. Perfect 2 hour visit close to Marriot Hutchinson island hotels and condos

    Confused content
The content of this museum is all over the place and oddly laid-out. If you are a car aficionado, here you are going to see one amazing collection of vintage cars. The Norman Rockwell cover collection of every Saturday Evening Post magazine was outstanding - why they strictly prohibited photos of that display is completely unknown and the security and control of that collection seemed excessive. Go figure. Upstairs, I found a room consisting of a completely reconstructed mid 19th to early 20th century apothecary. There was another room with very old vintage toys and games dating back to the 19th Century. Random vintage items seemed scattered about the upstairs rooms and hallway.

    A GEM of a museum!
This is one of my favorite museums. So electic, so many different and interesting exhibits all in one place. I've been 3 times over the past 2 years, because each time I bring a different friend. It's always a pleasure, and there are always new exhibits to see. Worth a visit!

Best Transportation Museum in the country
One of the best museums I have ever been to. The vintage cars , bikes etc were second to none. I have been to no less than 6 transportation museums across the country and this was the BEST. One of the highlights was the "auto elevator". You pick which car you would like to see and the automated system moves between three floors , grabs the car and brings it to the viewing area. AMAZING

Wonderful car museum and Fl history
One for the best display of cars I have been to in FL. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable. There is a car vending machine. Unfortunately as we were checking in, the machine had an issue and was not able to function before we left. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Stuart. Can wait to see this machine operating!

Very eclectic. I'm not familiar with the area, so the history was nice and interesting.
The cars were nice and three plane.

Great museum. Would definitely recommend. Lots of cool history and old cars. The Ashley Gang exhibit was our main reason for going.

It would be nice if they told visitors that the car display turn table was broken down before they pay. We went there for that and were disappointed. When I brought it to the attention of the desk they acted like they didn't know. When asked for a senior discount on an item my wife was buying they acted like I was crazy. Another tourist trap rip off.

The car museum was simply spectacular though I don't think the cost to get in was worth it. There was a Norman Rockwell exhibit I do love his work but it was just magazine covers I would have preferred seeing his paintings and there was an extra charge to get in for that which was not worth it.
