Many people have told me there are more gators in Lake Jesup than in any other lake in Florida. I don't know if this is true or not, but I can't argue with them. I visited during the afternoon and walked along a trail that...More

Lake Jessup is unbelievable! So many alligators and lots of birds. There’s something to watch every moment! It’s non stop sight seeing. If you like alligators, which i find fascinating, you’ll love a boat ride on this lake.

Lake Jessup supposedly has the highest alligator density of any lake in Florida. We went to several locations seeking a view of alligators in their natural habitat, but saw none until we went to a lakeside bar (Black Hammock), where some babies literally came crawling...More

The County had an opportunity to clean and dredge the lake about a decade ago and declined to match funds, missing their opportunity. As a result, it has become a stagnant, muddy, shallow space, teaming with gators. You rarely see boats on the lake because...More

always a pleasure to look at such a lovely lake. If you have a boat going on it would be great. Do not swim in it. You may wind up a gators dinner

We wanted to see alligators. We were not disappointed! The airboat ride we booked was fun, informative and well worth the money. While moving around the lake on the airboat we saw several alligators sunning on shorelines and on logs. We also saw them all...More

Lots of gators!! it is a shallow lake full of wildlife. Specks can be caught in the right season. Not recommended for canoes. maybe a jon boat or air boat is your best bet .Osprays fly overhead to look for a quick meal.

We live on this lake. It's a shallow lake and dubiously famous for it's alligator population, but it's a big slice of the "real" Florida. So much wildlife to be seen all thru this area. Best seen by airboat, and the 417 bridge is beautiful...More

You'll pass over Lake Jesup if you are traveling the 417 through the Orlando-Central Florida area. This beautiful large lake is where they used to relocate "nuisance" gators from around the area - it is therefore one of the most gator populated lakes in Florida!...More
