Fun to walk along the water when there is a cool breeze in the evening. Lights in December are pretty at night. Just be careful of the panhandlers and be alert in the dark. Watch for traffic, people don't stop for pedestrians all the time.

We walked down this Avenue and didn't see anything of interest other than antique stores and other tourist sharing the side walk with people riding their bicycles. Would not go out of my way to see San Marco Avenue if I didn't have to.

When visiting St. Augustine, don't just walk down St. George St. Check out the side streets and even walk down San Marco Ave. They have some amazing local shops down there and you'll find some really neat things

Sadly, San Marco Avenue is rated #125 of 151 “things to do.” Perhaps this is because TripAdvisor reviewers don’t know when crossing the street to Castillo de San Marcos (the National Park fort), they’re on this phenomenal attraction. Look around, people! There are dozens of...More

I loved the shops and sights along San Marco. Staff was friendly. Wares were interesting without pressure to buy. Pleasant time well spent between historical tours and sightseeing.
