Hi, You can view the Lighthouse from the front lawn and there are excellent picture taking opportunities from the pier across the street in Red Cox Park. That's free. The Visitors Center is also free, which includes the shop and a small exhibit, and bathrooms.
If you want to come into the Museum and see the lighthouse up close, then you pay admission. it also gets you access to the Keepers; House which includes an exhibition about the Lighthouse keepers AND a British Shipwreck from the time of the American Revolution. You can see our Boatbuilding program and walk the nature trails as well. Guided tours are offered free with admission on the hour between 11 am and 4 pm. We do this so that we can put the money back into restoration and educational programs, including maritime archaeology. To visit, please check our web site and download a 10% discount coupon that you can use when you visit. Or purchase tickets in advance using the coupon code LH15, for a 15% discount. If you don't want to go to the web there are discount coupons in local tourist maps.
