While we didn't spend much time on Peanut Island itself, we did walk the soft sandy beaches to get from one snorkeling site to another and were told that there is a really nice campground there with bathrooms, showers, campfire pit, etc. and plan to...More

We read the reviews and took the water taxi across in the morning with plans to fish, snorkel and have a picnic lunch. It was a bit cool but sunny in the morning, so we basically had the lagoon and snorkeling area to ourselves. Lots...More

Hidden gem: I was born and raised in Florida but never heard about this place until after I moved to Ohio. We brought the kids here for the snorkeling to try and convince them to go through SCUBA certification, and ended up halfway wondering if...More

Water was murky when we first arrived but that’s tides for you. We just waited it out until it cleared up. When it finally did it was pretty amazing! So many fish! Parrotfish, stingray, snook, barracuda, French Grunts, pufferfish, etc. Downside was that it was...More

The water taxi is about 5 minutes. The path around the island is a nice walk. There are restrooms and covered areas to eat lunch. Couldn't believe all the schools of fish around the rocks right next to shore.

A little gem. Accessible by short ride in boat or water taxis. No condos/homes. Small, clean beach, with small lagoon for great snorkeling. Bring gear and let loads of fish surround you.
