The pier has been a Pompano Beach landmark for 54 years. It is currently undergoing a 15 million dollar reconstruction. When it reopens it will be four feet higher to make it storm resistant and 80% wider. Right now it is being demolished. The rebuilding...More

Pompano Municipal Pier and the whole area are redeveloped. The area has lots of birds, has facilities, great for fishing.

Yup, title says it all. If you are hoping to catch a few fish off the pier...forget it. Everything else in the area is open though, fun for the family and good to go.

What a great place to relax! I spend most of my days walking along the beach and enjoying the beautiful sights in Pompano. I make my way along the beach and end up at the Pompano Pier! Cant wait until it is open again!

I went to the pier to take sunrise photos, and found that it was closed due to construction. I admit that last year it was in need of repair,so I hope that by next season it will be complete.

this stupid pier was closed when we arrived in pompano beach. I called a few different fishing/bait stores prior to visiting the area and none of them told me it was closed, even when I asked about pier fishing there. I called the Piers phone...More

This is a great way to "get out there" without rocking on a boat. It is now under construction so don't bother going until it is finished. However the beach on both sides of the pier is great.

The pier is closed and being rebuilt. It is interesting to walk over on the beach and see the new pilings and the crane sitting on the newly constructed part. There is no access to the pier.

Sadly, the pier is now closed and is being torn down. The new pier is scheduled to be finished in late 2019, but who knows.... It also, in all likelihood, will no longer have free access.
