I flew to Miami for a business trip. I was able to take the train from MIA to downtown Miami getting off at the Government Center stop. At this stop I was able to transfer to the Metromover. I used Metromover to take me to the Courtyard Marriott getting off a the Knight Center stop. It was easy and the Metromover ran very frequently and it is FREE. I was very impressed with the system.

Miami has made a very good effort with the Metromover and moving people around certain areas. It is by far the most efficient way to move between Brickell and Downtown Miami given the difficult in parking in both areas. I have also taken it to go to certain events at the University of Miami (Watsco Center). It isn’t perfect but getting better every day.

This automated monorail is a quick, easy way to see the city and get around. Maps are available at the stations, as well as in the cars. Raised platforms have a single width escalator, but only option going down is stairs

3 lines share the district. The light blue makes a loop in Downtown and is funny because it sometimes passes through skyscrapers. It is a line without a driver and therefore completely automatic. We can therefore put ourselves at the forefront. Making a complete loop with the light blue line takes just 1/4 hour. If there are children, be careful because the stations are not secure and we are a little above the street...

To visit Miami quickly and cheaply, using the Metromover is the best choice.
If you visit Miami, choose residences or hotels along the lines of this metro and you can reach any interesting point of the city. I recommend the Financial Discret part where there are excellent facilities that are cheaper than those downtown.
I personally took an apartment in Roami a few steps from the Finalcial Discrit station, where there is also a Publix chain supermarket which is quite well stocked, otherwise always close to other metromover stops I recommend Whole Foods Market which is extremely stocked of everything and of the highest quality.
Then from the terminus Adrienne Arsht stop with $10 by taking an Uber you can reach Miami Beach or alternatively if you are good walkers (like I was) take NE 15th St and you will pass over a wonderful bridge that will allow you to discover various islands and the Venetian Way to Miami beach.
The metromover hours go from 5 in the morning to midnight, so you can wander around all day, have dinner out and come back calmly.
Good discovery of Miami

It was so easy to take the Metromover to our Downtown hotel. The people working on the platform were helpful when I first purchased the ticket from the ticket machine. The ride was enjoyable and we didn't have to worry about traffic. I'll always use this service when I come to Miami.

A great FREE transportation system in downtown Miami. It is basically a driver-less elevated monorail that loops around downtown with stations a couple of blocks apart. There are three loops and connects with the Metrorail stations at Brickell and Government Center. Very convenient and excellent for tourists to get nice views of downtown.

My wife and I travelled to Miami for a long weekend that included taking in a Heat game at America Airlines Arena. Rather than make a ~2 mile walk or fight traffic and hassle with parking, the concierge at our hotel suggested riding the Metromover. It was only a block from the hotel and dropped us off directly across from the arena. Our only complaint was not actually with the Metromover, but with the city for not having an elevated walkway to get from the train station to the arena. Instead we walked down to ground level and spent waited through a sea of traffic to get across the street to the arena entrance.

I use Metromover all the time from my Brickell home to go to AAArena or other downtown activities. It's free, it's easy to use and I have always felt perfectly safe using it.
It makes perfect sense as you don't have to deal with traffic or parking, especially when there is an activity such as a concert, Miami Heat game, or 4th of July fireworks in the park.
Now they are discussing expanding service to South Beach which would be great!

METROMOVER is a free transport service that allows you to move from one area of Miami to another quickly and enjoying a beautiful view of the city's skyscrapers. Attention: if you want to reach Miami Beach you should get off at BRICKWELL and use UBER or traditional means of transport. Unfortunately, the Metromover does not allow you to reach the Miami Beach area.

A few within walking distance. Remember, this DOES NOT take you to the beach.

We walked from the end Metromover station. Easily walkable (15-20 mins) if you are fit or pick up a trolley bus along the main road

which hotel is a 5 minute to the Brickell station? Thanks
Written September 4, 2018
Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Miami Brickell Downtown. Just have to walk half a block. You'll be close to the metromover and the trolley. Two good options to explore the city.
