    RIP OFF STAY AWAY
Miami Seaquarium 4400 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne, FL 33149 I live nearby in the Roads and hadn’t been here in 20 years. We tried to bring our family to see some Christmas lights and they wanted to charge us $180 for 4 adults and 2 children. Plus $10 for parking. It’s horrifying how this city rips off families just to see some lights!! It’s truly disgusting. I could definitely see why this place is empty and nobody comes. As a matter of principle I would never pay those prices and I am never coming back.

    Don’t waste your money
While I support their rescue efforts, I have to say that the aquarium needs an update. It’s expensive, it’s not very well maintained (old and needs to be redone — ALL of it — and there just isn’t a lot to do for the money. And the poor manatees…what a small container and no stimulus that I could see for them. Just float around in a small tank….Overall I would not recommend

    Disappointing and expensive
First off, it is expensive and not easy to get to. $10 to park, $300 for 6 people with internet discount. Lots of things were closed due to renovations, weather, etc… apart from the 3 shows which last 15 to 20 minutes each. Not worth the $400 it cost for a family of 6. Disappointed.

    Bad experience. Sad animals.
Miami seaquarium should be closed or dramatically improved. Almost looks like a time capsule of 50's, not only because of the instalations but because of conditions of the animals, living in tiny pools just a few feet away from ocean. The turtle's pool is one of the most sad place i have been in my life. They are so proud about the total area of seaquarium but the arra of the park is tiny and old. The sea lion was sad. The seahulls and herons (or somethingnlike that) were piercing the garbagge bags and the staff were not that friendly. Wendy's ice cream was good. Flamingos were wonderfull. Staff os manatee's cafe was great and friendly. My little six year son liked.

Things to do before you go. Don't go..
Very few animals. Closed exhibits, very little food. Still have signs and on the map Orca stations which they don't have. Which confuses children that can read. Paint over the signs!!! Six penguins..Two manatees, I have more in my canal... Dirty tanks.. It should be posted as dolphin show and encounter. Only other thing worth it was the sea lions. Definitely not worth 200$ admission plus food. So disappointed. You can be done in 1.5-2 hours.. Oh and don't forget $10 to park. I will think of it that I bought the dolphins some food today...

1st time and we had a blast
Hello Everyone I Wanted To Start Off to say the Customer service in this place from a few employees was 10/10. some people now days still have that guest experience in them. Alex the show monitor has so much enthusiasm that it's rare you see that now days, such amazing hospitality and you can tell he puts guest priorities first. he loves his job and getting the crowd pumped up. he recommended me to do a dolphin encounter to meet a dolphin at dolphin harbour and that was the topping to our day with my two boys. the place is a little run down but our favorite show was the top deck dolphin show. the meet and greet was breathtaking and emotional these beautiful marine animals are so sweet and smart. i also would like to recognize veronica show monitor she also has the capability to endure in a guest experience by her knowledge and personable approach about the park overall i want to say thank you miami seaquarium for having these phenomenal employees representing your company, alex will keep striving far with his hospitality and showing enthusiastic energy. we will be back and hope to see alex and veronica here again

    Sad place
I don’t understand how a place like this still exists in 2023. The Miami seaquarium looks like it has not been updated since 1950. Many attractions are closed, the tanks are in bad shape and the animals looks bad, except for the dolphins. I was excited to bring my son who is very curious about marine life and this was just so disappointing. And the price they charge is really outrageous for what you get. It should either be closed for renovations or just close permanently.

Very badly maintained and mostly shut down
Half the exhibits are closed, there’s no more orca, the other half is maintained extremely poorly, the aquariums look like they haven’t been cleaned in months. For less money and more experience- head to the zoo, or the science museum. This place isn’t worth it.

    Don't support
This place was really pretty and well maintained when I was kid but now it's not worth it at all and animals are going through animal abuse. Their entrance is still the same price and even tho they continue to charge high price they can't even maintain the poor whale and its dolphine friend. As most of you have noticed the whale is no longer a show neither is there a way to see the whale why because the whale is in such dirty water along with the other dolphin. I can see why people go and protest . Take a look at the condition of the whale

    Horrible
Staff was rude and impatient with my family!! The small tanks where one Orca named Lolita and a dolphin named Li'i were kept away from public were disgusting!!! It just shows this aquarium could careless about these beautiful animals only profit. DO NOT bring your family here save your money and time.

This place is like walking through the twighlight zone and back into 1955. The only edible food was a mobile Wendy’s frosty station. We did the seal experience which was really fun and the trainers seem to care about the animals. Other than that, there’s not much to see or do. Many exhibits were “closed for renovation” but I’m guessing they don’t have staff or funds to renovate said areas. If you’ve walked 100 steps, you’ve seen the entire place. This place either needs a multi-million dollar renovation to bring it back to life or just shut down. Next time, I would choose the zoo instead.

Please do not go here. It’s a waste of money and the animals are horribly mistreated.

Tanks are dirty and animals just look sad.

They should be released into their wild habitats

Overpriced, basic, money grab, outdated, avoid.

My experience at the Miami Seaquarium's Dolphin Encounter was highly disappointing. The first issue was the exorbitant cost, which left me feeling like I'd overpaid for what turned out to be a very basic encounter. To make matters worse, they seemed determined to squeeze every last dollar out of visitors. From the pricey parking to the expensive tour and the cost of photos and videos, it felt like a relentless money grab.

When I tried to capture memories with pictures and videos, I was met with strict regulations and high fees for the privilege. This made the experience feel more like a cash cow than a genuine opportunity to connect with these magnificent animals.

To add to the frustration, there were no towels in the showers, which was an unexpected inconvenience. It left me feeling like the Seaquarium hadn't been renovated or improved since the 70s, and the outdated facilities were a major letdown.

In summary, my visit to the Miami Seaquarium's Dolphin Encounter was a regrettable experience. It was overpriced, failed to deliver a meaningful encounter, and seemed more focused on separating visitors from their money than providing a memorable experience. I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a more worthwhile and modern aquatic adventure.

Miami Seaquarium was such an incredible experience. We were greeted by friendly staff upon arrival and a very easy ticketing process. Prices for the park and the VIP experiences were very reasonable. We had tickets for the VIP tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind. From being kissed by a harbor seal, feeding stingrays, and accompanying a trainer to practice tricks/behaviors with the dolphins, it was phenomenal to be so close! The aquarium staff take very good care of the animals and practice eco-friendly business. Plus, our guide timed our tour very well as we were able to spend time with the animals at no rush, complete the program, and still have time to see all of the shows and educational conversations around the park. The VIP tour also included professional photos with all of the animals you meet. They came out lovely! There were tons too and were all sent to us in a digital format for no additional charge. If you want printed versions, those were cheap too.

Going to the Miami Seaquarium at this time of year (during the off season) is ideal - there is little to no crowd, you can take your time, and you don't feel rushed. On the map, there are several food options that are only open during the season. We went to the Manatee Bay Cafe and the food was a lot better than we were expecting with a variety of options.

The only criticism that we had was the gift shop - it was large with hardly any good souvenirs. Usually we buy just postcards but they did not have any!

Great for all ages!

We should have known something was wrong when there are 3 huge signs at the ticket counter saying “ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS!” 2 adults, 1 teen for $97 plus change to see some flamingos, 4 pengins, 2 dolphins, 2 manatee, a bunch of macaws, some aquarium fish, 2 seals, some stingrays, and a lot of “coming soon” enclosures. We were slow to walk, looking in every exhibit to see if something was there, nothing. It took us (maybe) 45 minutes total. We go to most local aquariums or zoos, but this is definitely one of the worst we’ve been too.

This place is a shell of its former glory. Many of the exhibits were closed. Many are not wheelchair accessible, which made it very difficult since we had our grandmother with us. We were there on a sunny Saturday afternoon and the place was a ghost town. It is sad what has happened to this place. We had fun, but there is much work that needs to be done here.

When we arrived, we’re told we cannot use/bring in our selfie stick, which happens to be a battery pack for my GoPro, and had to be left at the security. The park had very little fish, small amount of small sharks hiding in the touch pool, 2 manatees, 3 dolphins, sea lion/seals, and some penguins. The gift shop says it all, large space with not much to show. I’m glad we paid discounted tickets and not full price. A better experience by going to a pet store. Stayed only for the dolphin show and sea lion show then left. It was the shortest visit in any aquarium we’ve been to globally.

Let me start with the good- The staff and animal trainers were great!

The bad -
The park is very rundown. Many tank exhibits are empty or have only a couple fish. Aside from the two dolphin shows and the sea lion show, there isn't anything else worthwhile.

The dolphin odyssey experience was great, the trainers were fantastic. The sea lion show was awesome as well. The rest of the park seems deserted and it’s creepy since so many areas are blocked off and it’s showing serious signs of age. We were there on a Friday and it was dead. Here are the reasons I gave it 3 stars instead is 5:
The price inconsistent.. It seems the staff is not all on the same page for pricing for the observer tickets to watch the dolphin experience. Online it said the price was $49.95. However I was having technical difficulties and it wouldn’t let me purchase with the dolphin odyssey tickets. When we got to the park, the general admission was discounted to $19.99, but the dolphin observer ticket was $59.99. Ouch! So I paid it because I had two minors doing the dolphin experience. Then I get back to the experience area and they sell the people with general admission an observe ticket for $10.70. So total these people are only paying $30- half the price that I paid.

My other complaint is the food staff. They seemed irritated that they were inconvenienced to wait on people. Also i used my $5 coupon and after reviewing my receipt found they only took $1 off. Not a deal breaker but irritating. Then I waited 30 minutes for my food only to find the lady didn’t give the order to the cooks. It wasn’t even busy as I was the only one there.

Also, there was only one cleaner fish left. We had been here in 2019 and there was a tank full
I’d probably hundreds. Not sure what happened to them all. Just sad.

I’m writing this review with still hopes that the new owners will turn the place around and do some updates. It’s a cool place to have this and it has potential, needs some TLC and someone to get the staff trained and excited.
