Great area to beach your boat to hang out for a while or go looking for shells. This island is easy to get to through the gulf or inter coastal water way.

A good place to stop off and grab lunch and a swim. The water is full of small fish and the sandy beach is a must visit. But does get crowded as the day goes on.

Eight of us rented a boat and motored to Keewaydin Island....what an idyllic spot. Located between the intercoastal waterway and the Gulf of Mexico, it's a wonderful place to kick back, walk the beach, collect shells or hang out enjoying the water and the sunshine.

Took water shuttle to island for the day. Fun, clean beach. They had boat vendors with ice cream and food. Kids loved the ice cream boat!

I started coming to Marco Island in the 1980’s when I was a child. I used to go to Keewaydin Island with my folks by boat since then. I recently went there this March with my husband and I was sadly disappointed. First of all,...More

We headed over to Keewaydin via a water taxi service (Hemmingways). The boat ride itself was full of information and dolphin sightings. Things I liked about the island: great shelling, shallow waters, choice of gulf side or channel side for sitting, sandy. Things I didn't...More

We rented a boat and visited this island and enjoyed every minute. The shell collecting was amazing, the kids ran and explored and enjoyed the waves. Food trucks had great choices. Nice place to visit for the afternoon.

I've been told you don't need a reservation to camp. Mostly everyone I've spoken to just sets up and camps without one.

The island is free to the public. You need to go by boat to get there. We rented a boat for 4 hours and it was about $250. Rates may be down now that the high season is over.
