Lots of fun. Double kayaks for four of us and 1 single. Miranda suggested that we not take out glass kayaks as it was rough in open waters that days. That’s true honesty from her as that was an additional $60 she could have made but we would have taken longer to travel as they are more likely to tip over than the other kayaks.

We made it to the sand bar and the kids 2 - 15 year olds and 1 - 10 year old walked around searching for cool stuff. Masks were provided also and the kids really took advantage of them. Didn’t ever get to see a starfish but did see several other animals of the ocean.

Totally recommend to any family wanting to be out in the ocean for several hours and have an experienced guide.

Excellent way to spend half the day! Personable and professional guidance by Miranda, who clearly knows the many and varied habitats of the Keys and is excited to show them to you!
Be prepared to get wet and wear those water sandals. Paddling is minimal to moderate vigorousness. She brings cold water and snacks and a dry bag. Leave your phone/camera behind- she gets photos during the trip and shares them later.

Miranda was a fantastic host and tour guide! She and her partner made everyone feel comfortable from the start. She took her time pointing out so much wildlife in the ocean and answering all of our questions. The sandbar was fun to explore and a great break mid-trip. The mangroves were beautiful! Our tip wrapped up with a dolphin catching fish. What a perfect afternoon in the Keys!

Miranda is a very knowledgeable young lady! As we paddled through the Mangrove tunnels, she explained how fresh water mangroves grow in sea water, pointing out tiny little crabs. And then, out into the mangrove centre ponds and finding jelly fish basking in the sun! fantastic!

This was an amazing experience for our group! We saw tons of wildlife: birds, sharks, tarpon, manatees, sharks, lobsters, sting rays, and fish (to name a few). Miranda was a phenomenal guide! She knows so much science and history about the areas we were in and that really enhanced our experience. This was one of our favorite things we did while we were in the Keys!

We wanted to spend some time experiencing the beauty of the Keys (not the commercial aspects) and this tour met our goals! We found AquaVentures on Trip Advisor and the ratings were spot on. Miranda and Steve were amazing hosts and guides. We were joined by 2 other couples and Miranda, as our tour guide, was not just a gracious host, but a knowledgeable teacher about any and all vegetation and "critters". She shared her passion for protecting the ocean/gulf, the mangroves and all the animals and vegetation there ... and was just as excited as we were when we came across sea urchins, sting rays, nurse sharks, shrimp, baby lobster, jellyfish, mullet (and other fish too numerous to list), herons, cormorants, pelicans, vultures, crabs of all kinds and the dolphins we happened to encounter as we were finishing our tour. She encouraged us to slow down so we could see all that was around us ... and for that, we were rewarded. This was absolutely the best way to experience the Keys!!

This was the best thing we did in the keys. Miranda was very knowledgeable on all the sea creatures - you can tell she has a passion for what she does. Snorkeling on the sandbar was awesome and the fresh fruit was a nice touch. I would highly recommend this tour.

I booked this tour based on reviews and they were spot on!

Our guide made this trip so informative and knowledgeable with all the wildlife and sea conditions. She pointed out more than we would've ever noticed. Iguanas, hermit crabs, lobster, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, starfish, rays, jelly fish and numerous other fish & birds. She really knows her stuff!
We would do this again and recommend to anyone looking for a laid back, yet exciting & informative adventure.

You rock, Miranda!

Miranda is an excellent tour guide! So informative and personable. We had a large group of 11 and she interacted with everyone including the kids. The Mangrove tunnel was amazing! We did the clear kayaks and she packed us drinks and snacks. She was also very helpful with suggestions for other activities on our vacation.

Wonderful time on the Florida Keys Sampler with Miranda. Miranda rescheduled our original tour due to expected small craft adivsory which I much appreciated. Miranda very knowledgeable and was able to spot much marine life for an up close and personal view in a glass fish bowl she had. She provided reef friendly sun screen and included some fresh fruit and cold water. Am not experienced with a kayak but that was no problem. Although I didn't use one, a "glass" kayak was avilable and looked pretty cool. Overall a great way to start the day.
