We were a family of 6 (4 adults and 2 teenagers) we are very happy to have had this experience, a park in town, a price of $8 for 6 people. We saw several species of birds. The tour is 3.5 km on shaded asphalt and in the sun.
Very nice place to take a walk, have a picnic.

Lots of oak trees and nice breeze from the lake make this a very pleasant walking place. 2 mile walk around the lake. Water Park for the kids. Lots of shelters for parties. Nice RV park (though next to a railway line). Well maintained.

This is an excellent park to attend with family and friends. It is a great place for children's birthday parties, etc. There is a swimming pool, a location for camping, and a water park. There are also many shady spots and it would be a great location for engagement photos.

I grew up going to parks; "TY" holds a special place in my heart above all the others! I now visit with my kid, and he loves it! He suggested we walk there today rather than the beach even! Nature, Tree climbing, fun for everyone including dogs, you can truly creat great child hood and adult hood (smile) memories at this park.... I'm excited for what we can do at the park in the future, as we slowly and safely open back up to our new normal post C19. God Speed and keep safe! (I'm also determined to get an RV and camp out in the back at TY like I see so many families doing... I'm getting the Man to drive the RV, and marry me, and the RV! In which ever order!! ;o)

If you are having troubles to find a place to stay in Miami with your RV, I definitely recommend you this park.
The restrooms are extremely clean, the spots are great and the only small complaint is that there are no shaded spots, but the time will work that out......
For the rest I highly recommend this campground: a few miles away from the beach, water park, tennis, etc.......
Staying at this place was one of he best stops that we had in Florida.

This park was a great surprise. We stayed here 7 nights in a 35' 5th wheel travel trailer May 2013 while visiting relatives who live in Fort Lauderdale. The RV section is located in the very back of the park. The bathrooms and showers were spotless. The RV sites are long and spacious with plenty of pull-throughs. The park itself is well maintained and has a small lake, a very nice paved walking or biking trail, a water park, tennis courts and lush green grounds, complete with wild parrots. You are a 10 minute drive from the beautiful Hollywood beach and shops, or 20 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale Beaches. The only downside was the occasional very loud commuter train that passes by the perimeter of the RV section of the park -- especially during rush hour. Another heads-up ... make sure you have at least 30'- 40' of sewer hose for your RV if you want to hook up. The drive-through sites are long, and to position your trailer optimally, you will need at least that much hose to reach the sewer connection which is located at the very end of most of the sites. I needed every inch of 40' of hose, and that was stretching it to the limit. In my 20+ years of trailer camping I have never needed that much sewer hose. The local RV sales center said they sell lots of RV hose extensions to all the unsuspecting TY Park campers.

Entry to TY Park is a minimal fee at the weekend and free during the week. There are numerous paths for jogging or walking, vollyball and tennis courts, and a large children's playground, shaded from the sun.
The heat and humidity can be oppressive in South Florida, but in TY Park there are wooded areas to provide shade, a lake with a fountain that is large enough to provide a cooling breeze, and throughout the park there are cooling misters, and drinking fountains with icy cold water.
Did I mention numerous pavilions that you can rent for family picnics, and large grassy areas for playing family games. TY Park also has a water park (Castaway Island) with water slides, boats and bicycles to rent, and right next door is an RV Park as well.

Advertised on the Broward County website as no amplified music "enjoy the sounds of nature." Could be more contrary. Every other party is blasting lewd rap or reggaton on large PA systems and getting loudly drunk. Park staff don't care. Lots of litter, garbage and broken glass.
Not a good place for families.

Spent an entire Saturday here with the family enjoying everything it had to offer, and we loved it! It cost $1.50 +tax per person entrance fee. We went to this park since it's close to our home, and we wanted to spend the day bike riding. Our daughter is still in the learning stages of bike riding and the trails were nice, paved, and wide- so perfect for her to practice!
Most of the path is covered by large trees, so there is plenty of shade, and now in early March it's still not too hot. There was also a nice breeze blowing off the huge lake in the middle of the park. We took a break from bike riding for a picnic lunch at one of the tables near the lake. We brought our own food, but there was a concession stand open selling snow cones and hot dog type foods. There was also a small fishing dock over the lake, I saw several people fishing when we stopped to eat.
There is a small water park inside, and we had planned on visiting it- but it wasn't open for the season yet- so we decided to rent kayaks and paddle the lake. It was 14$ for the 1st hour per boat, so pretty reasonable. They also had canoes, and boats that you paddle with your feet, available to rent. It was our daughters first time kayaking, and this was the perfect place, it was a large calm lake, with no current, so perfect to learn in!
This park had a wide variety of activities. We saw people playing tennis, basketball, and beach volleyball. There were also about a dozen different sized pavilions you could rent out. We saw a lot of birthday parties with blow up bouncy houses, and at one pavilion there was even a company picnic with at least 200 people! I noticed an area for RV parking as well.

small entrance fee. This place has a Campground, Water Park in the summer, a lot of pavilions for picnics, a large lake, its great. We watched the parrots flying around in the tree above our picnic table. You can fish in the lake, rent boats, and relax in the warm sunshine. Lots of nice shady places if you dont like the sun.

No, the waterpark has a daily fee. Also, it is closed and I believe they reopen in May. It's only open seasonally.

Today is September 30th, Does anyone know if the parks opened back up to campers?
They need to update their phone message. I love this place but the poor customer communication is a huge deterrent.
Written September 30, 2017
Due to hurricane damages and clean up still underway, the park remains without updates for campers. I tried reaching as well and no further information available. Only thing is to continue checking-in as many places are still updating.

Hello are you back open now after hurricane Irma? Is there a charge to use the pool? Do you give Good Sam's club discount? We are thinking of coming in December so are you booked for the holidays?
Written September 13, 2017
It is County Park so no Good Sam discount. The Waterpark is extra. the website has the phone number. Best to check by calling for the latest status.

Why is it when I call I can NEVER reach anyone? Then I get the message that say thank you for holding, yet I get hung up on.... very frustrating and no way to do business...
