- savytraverlor43323Lino Lakes, Minnesota489 contributionsSwankier area just outside of Destin's main dragWe have walked around and had dinner or drinks in this little area a few times during our stay at Destin.( January - April) . Itg has been fun to see the place get busier over the months and the activities start. This is an extremely family friendly area. In April, they have various activities for kids. They also have a musician or two playing (at least in March and April) where the children jump and dance. The area has quite a few restaurants (with bars) available for the adults. The area has a serene, lovely vacation vibe.Visited April 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 5, 2023
- HeatherCincinnati, Ohio9 contributionsNot a lot to see, but worth a trip at least once.We enjoyed nice walk around the circle of shops on the waterfront. Not many options, the atmosphere was what made our visit. Music playing on several stages, shops were okay but much of the same when it came to souvenirs. We ate at the Crazy Lobster and it was terrible. Looking forward to the opening of Landshark, we’ve been to other locations and the food is fabulous! More shops for teens would have made it more worth our while. Grand Boulevard would have been a better option for our family.Visited April 2023Traveled with familyWritten April 5, 2023
- SuzannetherealtorBroussard, Louisiana79 contributionsOne of our favorite places to go toWe came in for the forth of July, they did it up big. The fireworks show was worth staying around for. We arrived early to eat dinner first and had ice cream after. I wish there was a few more places to get something easy to eat like a food stand. Everyone had a good time.Visited July 2023Written July 5, 2023
- Richard WKey Largo, Florida5 contributionsGreat Independence Day ExperienceAttended the Independence Day celebration. It was great. There was a free concert from 7-9 pm by the band Trippp, which is from Jonesboro, Arkansas where my brother-in-law and his wife live. The band members are very personable. Afterwards, there was a fireworks display with patriotic music which was abosolutely great! Many people coming and going, enjoying their visit. Only tough part was leaving afterwards as traffic was horendous. We sat in our car for at least 1/2 hour without moving at all. Eventually we were able to get out of valet parking and on to the main Baytowne road where there was a traffic director. Not sure why traffic could not have moved more quickly.Visited July 2023Written July 6, 2023

We ate at Ricardo’s Pizza & The Crazy Lobster & the service & food at both places were great. The live music is fun. Kiddos can play in several open areas & there are activities like a ropes course & many other things. It is clean & the grounds are well kept. I don’t understand the reviews that say it’s in disrepair or decline. I did not notice anything of that nature & I notice everything. It’s a cool place. I want to return & bring my grandkids. We just had a terrible encounter with the attendant of the merry-go-round here. I was bringing my two-year-old to try this ride and asked about the price and whether I would be charged for accompanying my son on the ride, and the attendant just barked "5 DOLLARS!" over and over without acknowledging my questions or letting me finish my sentences. He gave me an awful look. I'm not native US and I'm not from here - I will say the encounter felt very racist, and I don't say that lightly. What a bad way to be treated so close to the holiday season. What a shame.

This place has potential to be great, but…The majority of the shops were closed, or appeared to be closed. The ones that were open had their doors shut. Open the doors! Advertise! Play some music!

We tried this place two years in a row and have had terrible experiences. Each time it has been an utter ghost town, which is such a shame for the potential it has. The one restaurant we went into was okay, but very dirty. Attractions were abandoned with no employees at their post for kids to enjoy the attractions. When we did find employees at the climbing area, all 5 of them were sitting or laying down on the ground on their phones. When we approached them to ask questions, no one got up to talk to us. When we asked if anything was open they stayed on the ground, and said they just weren’t at the attractions because it was “slow”, and then said they had a 15 minute delay because of lightning. We opted to leave after such a terrible experience. We weren’t about to throw down a lot of money on attractions that the employees weren’t even motivated to promote. Last year was an utter failure as well, but we thought maybe it could be better if we tried again. Incredible disappointment. Don’t waste your time or money.

I would say that the village and the area would be family friendly if not for a rogue business there. If you avoid it and the owner Shannon, you and your family will likely have a very nice time.
However, I went in to this shop in hopes of buying a bottle of water for my 10 year old son who wasn't feeling well because of too much sun.
The owner blatantly ignored us standing right in front of him for several minutes while he flirted with a blonde woman behind his counter.
After several minutes without him once looking over or even acknowledging us, we start to walk out and the woman nudges him to finally say something. He says what do you want. Mind you I am half way to the door now and I tell him that we don't exist, so it's fine. We're leaving. He yells "what did you just say? You were rude and interupted me speaking to her". So, hmm, I should feel bad that he had to do his job I guess. I tell him again that we're leaving. 2 feet from his door trying to exit, he begins yelling at me in front of my minor child to F off and get the F out of the store. I turn around and look at him and he charges forward, gets in my face and sticks his middle finger out and an inch away from my face telling me how he's going to kick my @ss. I told him I'd call the cops and he dared me to do so because "they are all his buddies". He kept yelling in my face about kicking my @ss, so I told him to hit me then. He didn't and I said call the cops then because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be okay with your threats especially in front of children. He just told me to call them and to get out. So I walked out and I called the police.
While I was on the phone with them he opend the door to yell at and threaten me some more. Then he locked the door.
A deputy showed up and I explained what happend and how he was the aggressor and chased us down to continue his provocation. We were simply trying to not do business with him when he went crazy.
Long story short though, since he didn't threaten my son and didn't hit me, there wasn't much that I could do legally. If you look on other review websites, you will see that he has a pattern of openly disrespecting customers and threatening some of them as well. I don't understand why this community would allow retail tenants who verbally assault and threaten violence upon consumers. He knows the law well enough to skirt being punished criminally but that doesn't make this okay.
Enjoy the rest of the shops and restaurants, but stay away from this one and his other one across from it, Salt Life. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere and avoid the drama. Especially if you have children with you.

Valet guy ruined the evening. Borrowed my in laws Dually Truck. never been to Baytown before so we were clueless on parking, drove to guy standing in valet area who said can’t park fault trucks anywhere but in the valet spot—pointed and had us park in a spot for $30 (no they did not actually park it). Upon paying in 111 degree heat with 3 kids under 5 in tow—I made an awkward comment on why it prompted me to tip for a parking spot (stupid comment on my part) to which the valet guy turns into a huge mess. Loudly saying “he is the good guy here “ and “didn’t have to let us park at all”. I stated how embarrassed I am and I sincerely apologize for the comment on the tip. Valet guy is still going on about how Dually trucks are not even allowed there etc. I apologized and walked towards the restaurants for food. Upon returning 2.5 hours later, same valet guy in the lot, kids say and waive goodbye to him—to which he ignores us. Valet guy—you are not the good guy, good guy would have pointed us to the auxiliary lot or just let a dumb customer be a dumb customer. Asking why I get a prompt to tip for a parking spot is not that terrible. You didn’t park it, you charged more than the standard $5 and $10 posted on the valet sign. I happily paid the $30, and got a terrible beginning and end to my short lived visit.

This place was extremely hard to get into and not worth the trouble. You have to go through a guard gate and enter a very unwelcoming gated community to even get there. Once you finally find it there is very little parking for people that don't live there. There was a tiny parking garage with spaces that weren't even big enough to park in. We finally found some parking in a lot by some tennis courts, but I was worried the car was going to get towed the whole time. When we got to the shopping area half of the stores and restaurants were closed, and the ones that were open were not worth the hassle of getting there. It looks like a place that used to be really cute, but has not been well maintained. I was not impressed and do not recommend this place at all.

Where is everyone? It seemed deserted, in disrepair, with little to do and not m any shops. This place has declined a great deal in the last few years.

Are masks required throughout Baytown Wharf? Are they required in the shops? I know the restrictions were lifted by the state government recently.

Not sure about there but I'm in Key West and they expect you to have your mask on when you walk in to a bar or restaurant but once you sit down or have a drink you can remove it. Mixed on when and where and how strictly its enforced. Walking the streets is fine, no harrassment for not wearing a mask.
Will there be fireworks on Tuesday May 28 or on Memorial day and what time do they begin? Thanks

This is a public place. You do have to enter the gate, but just tell the guard where you are going and he will point you in the right direction.

Baytowne is not a 5th wheel place but is a nice area with restaurants, live free music on Wednesday etc. I certainly wouldn't consider it upity. Friendly folks, shops etc. There is a park for children. I like the atmosphere myself.

Not sure what you are looking for, but that time of year is very quiet. You will love walking without any crowds. Eat at ACME OYSTER AND ANOTHER BROKEN EGG while there! The shopping prices may be good because it is between seasons.
I want to rent a golf cart . We r staying at sandestin resort beach towers and would like to rent a golf cart but the office said they didn't rentthem. Is there a place to rent nearby that would allow us to park it here in premises?
