I’m sure if you’re coming here for boating, it’s probably a 5, but if you’re coming here to eat or shop, you might want to spend your time elsewhere. The shops are few and pricey, and the place just feels dirty. That’s why I’ve averaged it out and given it a 3. Another heads up... Cost for parking is 10.00 no matter how long you stay.

This is a shopping/restaurant conglomeration with a hotel on the property. It's the entry to a lot of dolphin cruises but you don't have to use this venue to do parasailing, dolphin cruises, etc. It's a hefty 10 dollars to park but there are in and out privileges if you ask for them. The best part is seeing the local fishermen bringing in their fresh catches, cleaning the fish and feeding the undesirable parts to the pelicans.

This was an ok place to kill some time. Lots of shops and food. Enjoyed sitting and watching the boats come and go on the harbor. $10 for parking and then driving around for 15 minutes before finding a place was quite ridiculous.

There are several restaurants and shops in the Harborwalk. It was very crowded and hardly anyone was wearing a mask. It was fun to see the boats in the harbor and everyone coming in with the fish they caught that day. Parking was $10. Overall, we didn't find anything special about this place.

My daughter and I went to HarborWalk for Dinner at Margaritaville. As we were walking from our car a man walked out of the “welcome center.” He asked us where we were going and we said Margaritaville. He said “oh hey, I have some coupons for $5 off and I can get you a coupon book for the HarborWalk as well.” So we follow him in and he completely duped us. Next thing we know, so kid is trying to get us to sign up for a Hyatt Timeshare tour! After many time of me saying we weren’t interested and one firm and final NO THANK you, we turned around and walked out of the “welcome center”. Completely ridiculous!!!

We went to the Harbor Walk and the parking had went up to $20!! I had read it was $10 in another review. We drove around what seemed like forever trying to find a spot until we come up on the exit and I told the attendant we never found a spot. We had to exit and come back in again and luckily found a place to park finally. The shops were your average little gift shops and we ate at Margaritaville. It was okay for a one time visit but I definitely wouldn't pay that parking to do it again.

Great place to walk around and people watch. Shopping is ok. Several restaurants have seats with a view of the inlet, and it made for an enjoyable time watching the boats come in before dust. Only drawback is the $20 parking.

It was nice atmosphere. Not good food. We got drinks and watched the boats come in. The sandbar view was amazing. The food at Margaritaville was expensive and not good. I would not eat here again. Do not get the nachos or macaroni and cheese. The waiter spilled our glasses on water all over the whole table while we sat there. The table was sticky.

If you choose HarborWalk Marina for your fishing adventure please note that you get the same exact experience for a lot less money on an open party boat. If you want more personal experience DO NOT LET THEM BOOK YOU ON THE GULF RANGER! The captain was a slob the mate was ok but neither were friendly or that into what they were doing. The experience made us feel like they had our money and could care less and they would never see us again. We went to one spot where the fish were not biting thought we were leaving to go to another spot and he idled all the way back to the dock early. Boat had termites and peeling wall paper and mold. It was just as gross as the captain was and I would never put that kind of money towards that kind of charter.Tip was unappreciated as well.

I have to say, as a local of the Destin/Fort Walton Beach/Niceville area for over 13 years, I am very displeased with the Harborwalk as of late. This new implementation of the $10 parking fee is not only a slap in the face to the locals that have supported the businesses of the harbor for decades, but it is also a major issue with traffic. With no way to divert traffic while people are waiting in line to pay for parking, it has increased the traffic around the harbor to levels I have never seen since moving here in the early 2000s. I am currently sitting in stand-still traffic (literally) on Okaloosa island as I write this review, noting that it stretches miles farther than I have ever seen it. As a resident of FWB that works on the east side of Destin, I have driven this road twice a day for years. To be fair, the traffic before the bride by the harbor has never been stellar, to say the least, but since adding the parking fee, it has become unbareable. I now have to leave 2 hours early for work or more just to combat the horrific traffic delay, when I can make the trip to work in 45 minutes or so with little to no traffic. I have yet to spend a penny at the harbor since the new parking fee, and I will continue to spend my money elsewhere until this issue is resolved: whether that be a removal of the parking fee in total, or a discounted rate/no fee for locals who choose to support the businesses there through the off season, as well as the summer where they have to fight the tourism... and I encourage other locals to do the same. Very disappointed.

Is there a designated parking lot for this? What is the difference in this and the Boardwalk?
Written August 14, 2016
Generally, parking can become somewhat cumbersome at times, but you will find parking underneath the Emerald Grande, or directly behind Coyote Ugly Saloon to access the docks and the plaza area. Harborwalk Village is only a part of the whole boardwalk.

We start seeing that around mid summer.
