If you and your family are into history then you must stop by and see this monument. I know it isn't much but it is a great piece of history you are able to read about it when you go.

We were visiting the Dade Battlefield State Park and found that this monument was around the corner on tripadvisor. So we drove over, pulled over and read the monument. Interesting that a Fort had been here and that Tennessee Volunteers helped, etc. Just wasn't much...More

Named after Major Robert Armstrong, this fort was constructed in 1836 by a detachment of Tennessee volunteers. Used during the Second Seminole Indian War as a supply base. Nothing remains except this roadside monument. Nice piece of Florida history but not worth going out of...More
