This trip was so much fun! From the costumes and makeup to the trip and commentary of the captain, we all had a blast! Kids enjoyed themselves and had so much fun spraying the “bad pirate” and my husband and I enjoyed the captains jokes. Would definitely do again and recommend to anyone!

We had an amazing time! I definitely recommend this for anyone with young kids. The pirate crew was amazing with the kids. It was nice to sit back and watch my kids have fun, while someone else ran the show. They were so organized and friendly. We would definitely do this again and I have already told a my friends!

The e penitence was great. The check in was OK. It was nice to get goodies before boarding ship. Rhe games and scavenger hunt kept the kids attention and the limbo was the best. The treasure chest had ok prizes but it was cute. Worth the price for children but the price for adults could be a little less, in my opinion. The captain kept the adults entertained.

This sailing was great we had a great time watching all the kids using the water cannons
The two mates on board the boat add to the fun
You can tell they have that teachers experience entering the kids all the time with their pirate jargon
This is something you have to do with the kids they will never forget it
Nor will I

We appreciated that while the focus was primarily for the kids, we as parents got some hiistory on the Lewes Canal and pirates. My son enjoyed it.
I did not expect so many families to be on one expedition, but it was still a great experience.

So much fun for the kids AND adults! Our 2 kids (4&6) had such a great time. They’ve both said it was their favorite part of our vacation. Even the parents could get in on the action helping to fire the water cannons at the bad pirate! My boys are still carrying around their “treasure” they stole from the pirate 😊 The staff was friendly and efficient. Really well done. Thanks Pirates of Lewes!

We spent a week in Rehoboth and this was part of a fun day trip to Lewes. After a few days, my kids were bored of the beach and this was a fun change.
The ride is about an hour and the staff are extremely good with children. They had programming the entire time and managed the group well. The kids start by looking for different clues on a map to find treasure, searching the shore for a mermaid, shark, etc. They fight off a bad pirate with water cannons a couple times and dance/ do the limbo. The staff entertain the kids and adults can sit back and enjoy the boat ride and take pictures. The kids get treasure and gold coins. We were a little nervous about the toddler but staff take the little ones by the hand and the boat is child proofed with thick netting so no one can climb on the railing. The staff dress the kids in pirate gear ahead of time, and they get to keep an eye patch and sword.
Our kids are 2.5 and 6.5. The 6.5 yo was the oldest in our trip, but I think the ideal age is probably 5-8. Both kids had a blast and were exhausted afterwards.
This was a highlight of our trip to the Delaware shore! A bit pricey but worth it. The only thing that might make it better is a bar for the grown up section!
Some tips: Arrive at least 20 mins early so the kids can get pirate ready. No bathroom aboard so plan accordingly- there is a restroom on shore. Kids (and adults) will get wet. The bad pirate has a water cannon too! Recommend a change of clothes in the car.

We just did this Pirate Expedition with our 4 grandsons ages 2, 3, 5 & 6 and they loved it. It's a very hands-on, interactive tour that keeps the kid's excitement through the roof. Our boys were all very excited when we got off the ship. The captain even keeps the adults entertained in the aft of the ship. Two Thumbs up for sure. My only recommendation to the parents is to remind them that the "bad pirate" is just pretending and they will get him with their water canons.

Great experience for kids & parents/grandparents alike. The crew is terrific! They involve the kids from the minute they arrive putting on costumes, face painting, picking out their sword to taking the pledge to be a good pirate and then entering the Sea Gypsy for an hour of interactive fun. On board they follow the map & search the "seas" for treasures. They shoot water cannons at the "bad pirate" who approaches the ship. They do the limbo on the way back to port and they take a bag of goodies with them as a memory for the day on the seas! Our 10 yr old grandson, Jack & and our 5 yr old granddaughter Savannah loved every minute of it. We did this trip about 10 yrs ago with 2 of our other grands and they are now 14 & 15 and still talk about it. Our experience in previous years taught us to have the kids wear their swimsuits because they do get wet with the water cannons. You won't be disappointed! Enjoy!

Would the Pirate Tour be entertaining for a 13yr and 8yr old boy.
Thank you

How many children are on the boat?

Not sure how many we had on board or how many it holds. Best to call and ask, but this time of year I’d definitely make reservations. My three grandsons (10,7, and 5) had a blast

Do the parents or grandparents have to pay for this?

Yes. The activity is for the kids, so adults are paying for a leisurely boat ride and to watch your kids transform into pirates. Adults sit in the back and watch the “show.” I do not recommend this at all for adults who do not have children.

Where can I find a coupon code for this adventure? I would like to bring my 2 grandchildren to this adventure, but the price is a bit steep for my pocketbook!

What if it rains

It runs rain or shine. There is a covered area in the back for adults. The kids are going to get wet anyway during the pirate water fight.
