This was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done. Being from New York, we don’t see views like this often. I highly suggest having Nate as a guide. He was very attentive to our comfort zone and adjusted routes accordingly. He kept a conversation going without chewing our ears off and was extremely informative. Everyone else was very friendly. Definitely will come back and recommend to anyone looking for a solid snowmobiling experience.

Thanks for the great review. The views are absolutely breathtaking! So glad you had a special adventure with Nate, and our whole staff looks forward to sharing another adventure with you, summer or winter!

This was our second rafting trip with Sage. Our first trip was 2 summers ago on the Shoshone River. This summer we did Browns Canyon which was even better. I can’t say enough good things about this company. The guides are total experts and take care of everyone and everything. Our 9 and 11 year old loved today and were able to jump in and swim through some rapids (last trip they were 7 and 9 also had a great time on the Shoshone River). Our guide Victoria was a legit rafting guide who made everyone feel comfortable and have fun (and she answered the million questions that our kids asked and was never annoyed)!!! You can’t go wrong with this company!

Cougar was a great guide- made sure everyone was safe with operation and handling of the snowmobile prior to the trip. Kept a close eye on the group. We had a blue sky day and the views from the top were fantastic! Would highly recommend

So glad you enjoyed your time with Cougar...he is a great guide! Whether it's blue sky days, or magically snowy days, it's always great to explore the mountains on a snowmobile. Come back and see us again...we look forward to another chance to adventure with you!

We elected the 3 hour performance adventure for 4 in our group. Most of us had never driven a snow mobile, so our guide, Cougar, taught us what to do, gave us time in a play spot to let us build confidence and to be agressive. He gave us instruction along the trip, and allowed us freedom, within safe areas, to enjoy the ride!
We will definitely return for another adventure!

We did the class III Shoshone rafting trip through Glenwood Canyon. We had three kids between ages seven and eleven with us. We were a bit worried about the little ones and the rapids, but they loved it and everyone stayed in the boat. Our trip was during the time of COVID and this company handled all the safety precautions well. We had our own van to the put-in spot and everyone was great about wearing masks. We are pretty risk adverse when it comes to the pandemic, but we felt very comfortable with Sage. Our guide, Garrett, was wonderful. We learned a ton about the river and canyon. All the Sage people were great to work with and everything went very smoothly.

We did the Brown's Canyon run with Victoria and it was perfect! there were 5 of us with varying degrees of experience from a first timer to very experienced. Gorgeous scenery and fun rapids for every skill level. Victoria is an awesome guide and handled a health emergency (non-rafting related) calmly and professionally. I cant wait to go back and do the more advanced sections of the river and will definitely ask for Victoria!

My fiancée and I booked the Side by Side ATV and Horseback riding. We had Martin for ATVs and Sam for horseback riding for our guides. Both were phenomenal in taking the time to ensure safety, make small talk with everybody in the group, and most importantly, made sure everyone had a great time. Out of our week long vacation, these two activities were by far the best days we had and we attribute that to our guides.
Martin knows how to keep everyone safe, is very comical, and makes you feel like family right from the beginning.
Sam knows her way around the horses, is able to take control of the situation if a horse gets out of line, and lets you enjoy the ride without over complicating things. We had a few younger kids in the group that she was able to teach and assist when necessary.
Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely use Sage again if and when we're in the area again.

We went fly fishing and white water rafting with Sage. It was incredible! For fly fishing, the Piney River trip is the way to go. Private river lease with pristine waters and LOTS of fish. Elijah was our guide, and he is the best. My son and I had never fly fished, and we hooked a fish in the first 60 seconds of being on the water. I can't say enough about Elijah as a guide. He was super patient and enthusiastic about teaching us to fly fish. GREAT with kids. We hope to see him next year.
The white water rafting trip was tons of fun. Sage is really organized, and they know the waters so well. We did the Brown's Canyon trip. It's a bit of a hike from Vail, but it was worth it. A mixture of fun Class 3 rapids perfect for families and beginners.
We will book with Sage again for sure. BTW - you get a discount if you book more than one trip with them!
Thank you, Sage!

Fun and relaxing float down the Upper Colorado. Great trip for all ages...this is not a white-water adventure, rather a chill and look around float. Our guide was great. He gave us a chance to jump into the river at one point and coaxed me into rowing/steering the raft for 10-15 minutes. The picture is of me rowing, not our guide! We were going into a headwind and I think he was getting worn out, but I enjoyed it!
Highly recommend any Sage Adventure, they know what they're doing and have experienced guides that make the trip fun.

What a blast! We had a great guide that made sure we were safe and had fun. Our driver greeted us with enthusiasm and got us to the river safely. He also had the heat turned on inside after our trip so we weren't freezing from the cold river waters. This experience was worth every penny! On the river, our guide pointed out a Bald Eagle's nest and we were able to see both mom and dad and babies. When we go back to Vail, we will definitely be using Sage Outdoor Adventures for another great experience for memory making with our family! Thank you Sage!!!

My 14 1/2 year old son and I will be in Vail the afternoon of Thursday, February 14th.
What time are your snowmobile tours that day? If I sign off on the liability forms, will he be able to use his own machine?
Thank you

Hi there! Thank you for contacting us!
Our pick up times each day are 9 AM, 11:30 AM, and 2:00 PM for our 2-hour guided tours. You will be signing liability forms and a damage waiver for both you and your son, but he is most definitely able to drive his own at your discretion.
I hope this helps.

can i rent a snowmobile and adventure out on my own or are they group tours only?
Written January 8, 2019
Thank you so much for your question! As others have mentioned, we only offer guided tours as we are a guide company here in the Vail Valley. Our guide to guest ratio for snowmobiling stays small of about 6 machines per guide depending on the groups we have out that day. Give us a call at (970) 476-3700 if you have any additional questions!

What kind of guided jeep type tours do you have for a group of ten, includes a 2 year old and 2 six year olds? Will be there the week of June 18.
Written May 30, 2018
Hi there! I know you were out a few months ago, but I thought I would give an answer for any future bookings. Our minimum age for our Side by Side tours is 4 years old as a passenger. We only offer Side by Sides which is a hybrid between a jeep and an ATV, but we do not offer any jeep tours in particular. Give us a call if you have any more questions for the future.

¡Hola Maria!
Gracias por su pregunta. Desafortunadamente, no ofrecemos visitas guiadas en español y necesitaríamos que el grupo entendiera algo de inglés. No dude en hacer cualquier pregunta.
Amablemente,

Hi! Hello!
I’m in Avon for a week off and would like to know if at this time(Jan 28/29/30) is that possible to trek in The McCoy Park with snowshoes.
I’m also interested in snowmobile tours.

When does the season open for snowmobile tours?
Written November 12, 2016
Hello,
Yes, as stated in an answer above, it all depends on snow. It is currently DUMPING snow, so our target date is in a few days, Monday November 21st. Vail ski resort has delayed opening for a week, the Vail Valley has just not seen early snow this year. Even if there is not enough snow for snowmobiling, we will offer side X side ATV tours instead starting Monday.
