About
Old Town Hot Springs is an historic all-natural hot spring and recreational facility in the heart of downtown Steamboat Springs. It is family friendly and has been the place for recreation and rejuvenation for visitors and locals alike for over 100 years. The swimming and soaking pools served as a gathering and bathing place for the Ute Indians who first settled in the area. Then in the late 1800s, it was a social spot and a bathing place for the early homesteaders. Old Town Hot Springs sits at an elevation of 6,700 feet and offers eight pools, including two 230-foot waterslides, a 3,000 square foot hot activity pool, an aquatic rock climbing wall, the historic Heart Spring pool, eight lap lanes, and massage. We also have a full fitness center with over 45 classes each week, including aqua fitness classes, yoga, spin, Pilates, BodyPump, Zumba, and more. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit, multi-use complex open seven days a week, year-round.

Great way to relax and recuperate after a day on the ski slopes, bubbling away in the various pools. Or you could wear yourself out in the gym or swimming pool first. Not as sulfurous as many of the springs in town, fortunately for the olfactory senses.

Great first hot springs experience. I went with my teenage daughter and we both really liked it. Staff was SUPER friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Do read when the slides are open if that is something your family is interested in. We missed getting to do those by about an hour as they opened at 4. Also, bring towels so you don’t have to rent them. $10 ($5 per towel) that I really didn’t want to spend. The 103 degree tub was heavenly. Next year I plan to get more bang for my buck by booking massages which will include entrance to the pools.

We went from 2-4 on a Sunday afternoon. It was about 35 outside. no snow on the ground. The facilities are really great. Admission gets you access to all the heated pools (they have4 or 5 all at different temperatures) as well as the gym upstairs and the cafe. The pools are very large, thoug the 2 hottest ones are fairly small. Only one pool is adults only, and there were a ton of kids when we went. At one point a kid vomited in one of the pools and it had to be cleaned and evacuated for about 40 minutes. I recommend staying away from the kid areas. It was very relaxing and the healing, mineral rich hot water is very good for your skin and body. There is a lap pool at the far end if you swim for fitness as well.

This was a fun place to spend a few hours. They have 4 I think it was hot spring pools as well as a regular pool. It was relaxing. I did notice for the next 48 hours my skin was very dry. Not sure if it was from the minerals here or not. I tend to think it was, but nothing that would stop my from visiting again.

My kids (both 10) love coming here. They love the outdoor climbing wall (ringing the bell!) and have done the indoor wall in years past. We really enjoy the workout area too. We end up going from pool to pool while we’re there. Natural hot springs in the heart pool. Very cool spot and something fun for everyone. Plus they brought their concessions stand too (really good smoothies!)

This place has it all. It's your workout center, rock climbing wall, hot springs, and water slides. Everything but water slides are included in your daily price (check with your hotel to see if they offer a discount). You also get a day pass! So you don't need to do everything all at once. My husband and I made a day of Old Town Hot Springs. In the morning we went to soak in the hot springs. After lunch we climbed on the rock wall (which has a self belay feature so you don't need a buddy). After dinner went went back for water slides and more soaking. While the water slides were fun, I could feel ever connection on my back as I slid down. One slide is dark and the other one has light. Overall, I don't think the water slides are worth the additional $7/person. The climb up is very cold from the warm water and while we were there they shut down the slides early for an incident and didn't have enough staff to deal with it. There were a ton of rowdy adults with their children splashing around which was unfortunate and it was full of people. Both morning and evening the pool felt really full! Worth it overall if you are going to go several times in a day, not sure it's worth it for a short visit.

We went the last night we were in Steamboat - was a nice way to relax tired muscles after 5 days of skiing. It was right in town so we didn't have to travel far from the Resort.

We took a day off from skiing to workout and use the hot springs. Masks were required, even while working out. There is a $25 charge and an extra $5 for a towel. There are lockers and showers, no hair dryers. The place was very clean and there were plenty of work out equipment. The outdoor hot spring area was great. Plenty of adult only hot tubs, a large pool area for kids and even a lap pool. parking was free. Right on main street in Steamboat.

I was in Steamboat for two weeks before Christmas with family and wanted to keep up my running routine but being from Florida i am not use to running outside when it is really cold so I went to the Old Town Hot Springs Gym and was very impressed with the facility. They have a great selection of machines and free wieghts. The staff is very friendly, everything was very clean and they had hot clean showers for when your finished.
